So i bought a 1997 gs-t a couple months ago making it my winter project for the summer when it comes along. I'm just trying to do the regular repairs/maintenance now. The engine looks like its in pretty bad shape but sounds quiet. So the problem is, it's misfiring on cylinder 3 since I've bought it and i assume that it's an ignition coil problem so i got some new ones. I was just driving the car around one day and I kinda pushed the turbo and then my check engine light went on and my car turned off. This has happened before, when i let off the boost the lights would dim and sometimes check engine would go back on. So i switched my alternator and i tried turning on the car again but it won't start. It cranks but it sounds like its misfiring like a b*tch. Could it be that one cylinder? (cylinder 3) Or could it be another problem? Because it started before with that one cylinder misfiring, could have anything changed? My friend said it could be the rings from my pistons. I'm very lost, please leave feedback. I'm changing the coil's this friday so if it isn't the solution. Then damn.
