i was able to get some more work done on the engine to day. got the tranny separated the clutch and fly wheel removed and some cleaning done, got some of the mounts and brackets cleaned up and painted just have to get 4 bolts to mount it to the engine stand to get the oil pan taken off and the rest of it disassembled to get it fixed and a couple possible upgrades

Well i had a chance to get the engine up on a engine stand today. I droped the oil pan to take a look and find out that it had spun a rod bearing. So now i have to go through what options i have to get it fixed. Im either goin to send it to a machine shop or gona buy a frankenstien short block with either the evo 9 pistons or the evo x set up from the dsm grave yard

Well i called a machine shop to get a round about price to harebuilt do to crankwalk..... it will goin to cost 2-2.3k to have to block rebuilt...:ohdamn: so i have desided to buy a 4g63 frankenstein block for the dsm grave yard. I just have to deside to go with the evo 9 piston or with the evo x set up. Is any one running either of these set ups?

Good to know ill have to see if i can find the reviews

Any recomendations on where i should get a new block from?

well i just got done reading the review on thedsmgraveyard.com and that defiantly changed my mind about using that company. thanks to all that wrote a review, im glad i read them i really dont want to deal with a bunch of BS to get my car running and on the road. again thanks to all that wrote a review

I found a replacment engine for my tsi its out of my budys gst it was rebuilt and in the car but he desided to part ways with the car the engine has 0 miles on the rebuild

what would be the best way to break in a new 4g63? obviously it needs to be babied for awhile but how many miles? what type of oil should be used? how many time should the oil be changed during the break in proses? and info will be greatly appreciated
