1995 GS-T idle problems

My buddy and I just did a motor swap in his 95 gst. Sometimes doesn't start just clicks and then when it does start it idles extremely weird and surges and while its surging the tail lights flicker. Can't really figure it out if anybody else has experienced this let me know! Thank you guys

Check your battery terminals to make sure they are tight and making a good connection.
