w00t w00t Finally got my new transmission in, as a amateur mechanic it took a while, also I didn't have the time before to spend on it, car drives awesomely, but not so much runs awesomely.

I bought a brand new radiator, and the radiator fluid light still comes on, it didn't when I had the old one in, and so does the light that looks like a house (sorry I didn't get a glove box manual with mine) That's besides the point though, when I start the car I have to hit the gas and hold it a bit so it will stay running, I'm thinkin its 1 of 2 things or both, just lookin for a second opinion.

1: It had bad gas in it from sitting for a while before I bought the car and sat for another 7 months so it's about a year and a half of sittin with that gas, that and something to do with the pressure in the gas lines.

2: One of my cam gears wobbles maybe an 1/8th of an inch or less while running, it also makes a loud vibrating sound when in idle, and its making my timing belt sway, but not to the point where it comes off.

When I put the new transmission I had a mechanic of 40 years kinda direct me after I gave up on it for a while, he said it has awesome compression, so I don't think the valves have any play in the vibrating noise, and I'm hoping it's not a crankshaft itself making the cam gear wobble.

is the camshaft gear bolted on properly?
i would not run that motor at all if i had a wobbling cam gear, that's asking to bend valves.

the cam gear should never move side to side. the belt may "walk" a tiny bit on the gear but that's it.

Hmm I'm not sure if its bolted on properly, but it is possible it might be loose, I tried to take it off before, but didn't have a holder, but might have loosened it a bit anyways

If your cam gear is loose you dont need a holder the bolt should freely come off check that and see but ya dont be running the motor like that or your gonna be ending up with bent valves very soon!

So should I try to tighten it to see if that helps? The bolt didn't seem to budge what so ever when we tried to losen it.

Also, happen to know a price range on how much it's going to cost to convert it to a 5spd?
