1993 Talon TSI for $950 or Trade? Smokes bad

Thinking about trading my atv for a 93 Talon TSI. Smokes really bad, has 200k on it, maybe just a turbo and gaskets? Lemme know what it could be and is it fixable for around $400 (not including turbo)

Just saying that it is smoking and how much will it cost is kind of silly. It is impossible for anyone on here to know if it is the turbo, rings, valve seals, blown head gasket or what. It could cost you 100 bucks for a used turbo, it could cost 1,000 to rebuild the engine.

If you lived closer I'd give you the $950, been looking for a 1G project since I got rid of my GSX.

As far as the price goes and the condition, it might be something silly or something that will be costly. If the shell is in good condition with minimal or no rust the $950 is a safe bet.

i call BS. 2 months ago i sold a NICE, running good, only needed tires to be a everyday driver, 91 silver power everything and it all worked, 5-speed gsx. i barely got 1000$ out of it. even the leather was beatiful minus the driver seat that was sort of rough. it was a KS car and had NO rust.

a dsm with ANY issue is not worth more then 5 bills. if that.

ive 5 of them, 1g gsx cars. 2g cars. one of the 2g cars was already sent to the crusher because i couldnt get rid of it. the other 2g is sitting in my driveway, i have every part to make it a bad ass awd gsx and i can get more money at the crusher then what people will give me for it. so yes, come to ks, they go cheap and im not the only person out here to haul them to the crusher, they are worth about 300$ there.

ive been trying to get rid of 2g awd swap parts too, subframe, gas tank, rear dif, drive shaft parts, mounts, transmission. im a step away from tossing most of it in the trash can, i need the space back in my garage.

Notice the state it says I'm in? Different states have different amounts of DSMs, here a clean shell with no drivetrain will run $750-$800. Don't call BS unless you know the supply of DSMs in the surrounding states, just because you didn't wait and sold yours for only $1000 doesn't mean he wont get more for his.

I will now let that sink in.

Pointless thread. Why? We're going to have a difficult time guessing what could be causing smoke on a car you don't even own.

Every post beyond #2 proves this thread has zero technical value.
