I have a '91 Eclipse gsx,the car is my second 1g but my first turbo car. The car has a lot of problems, another owner put Rc550cc injectors, manual boost controller, an oil catch can, and a fuel pressure regulator.i havent gotten to really check everything out due to a recent noreaster but so far the car smokes bad from exhaust and the exhaust mani (cracked). I cleaned the plugs and put them back in and they fowl right away, i also came to the conclusion that the turbo bearings and seals are shot b/c there is oil on the air inlet side of the turbo i also think the waste gate actuator may be siezed. Last but not least there are so many blocked off and disconnected vacuum ports/hoses (looks so f-ing messy). I was wondering if aanyone had any ideas what else i should look for and where i should start?!?!?!

-------Also when i drove it it revs to 3k and starts to break up,the abs light goes on to and the car starts to do a little bounce...I have know idea why:banghead:

That is more than likely a bad turbo seal. However do a compression test on the car first to rule out any other problems like a blown HG or bad rings. To do a compression test you need the tester for starters. Pull the 30A (I think its a 30A) MPI fuse on the battery terminal. Then remove the spark plugs, and put the compression tester in one cylinder. Make sure the engine is warm, and have a partner push down the gas all the way while cranking over the car. The comp tester will creep up to the amount of compression in the cylinder. I would also check for shaft play on the turbo, one way to tell if it is bad is in and out/side to side shaft play on the turbo. Another reason to why it is smoking is because those injectors are too big without proper tuning software/electronics. So it is running to rich and fouling your plugs right away. You're onto a good start. Throw back in some stock 450cc injectors and see what happens.

The reason why your car is breaking up could be a few things, you may be hitting fuel cut (running too much PSI) so you should get an aftermarket boost gauge because the stock ones are as good as garbage. Make sure you're not going past 15 psi. Another thing you should do is a boost leak test. That could be why you are breaking up. But I think I nailed everything on the head for you. Any questions feel free to pm me! I wish you the best of luck!

Get a new manifold, a cracked one will cause some issues. What is your turbo doing that makes you think the actuator is stuck? You can hook an air hose onto the actuator and see if the arm moves and opens up the butterfly valve.

thnks alot, can the car be tuned with those injectors on a stock setup?..i looked at the turbo and the shaft has no play in it and the wastegate actuator doesnt move and it was diconnected when i got it so idk if it is really bad i think i would rather change it though, when i got the car the turbo wouldnt spool and after i connected the actuator it just started working
