Sorry to turn this into a trans build thread....but I keep finding things that don't add up, "at least to the parts catalog."

I decided to take a look at 2nd gear synchro and noticed that this "stock" 93 GSX trans has a double synchro 2nd. Do 93-94 trans have double synchro 2nd? (I know 2G does) In the photos you can see no machining was done so looks like stock parts.

I added a screen shot of the current MOPAR parts catalog for 1993 DDF manual trans, and it doesn't show double synchro 2nd. but it does for the 2G trans.

Yes 93 up are double synchro 2nd

So obviously, these spring retainer bolts come with sealant from the factory however, the service manual does not call out the use of anything here. Does anyone know what sealant is used here? It looks green

In the photo you will see the intermediate shaft assembly sits slightly higher than the input shaft assembly in the case. I believe this is causing too much clearance between the input shaft bearing race and the case which doesn't crush the solder at all when assembled.
I did replace both top and bottom intermediate shaft bearings, but only the top bearing on the input shaft. Would this be why I am seeing this uneven shaft height? also probably why the input shaft bearing race doesn't crush the solder after the case is torqued down and also why the solder DOES crush on the intermediate shaft?

Thanks

Resolved….the reason why they are not sitting evenly is because I found some debris between the case and bottom race preventing the race from fully seating. Removed the debris “which was from a broken oil router that’s sits beneath the race” and now the race fully sits and the gears are at the same level.
