1G 1990 Talon TSI dead, have 1991 laser for parts- Question

I am a new owner of a 1990 Talon TSI AWD! Unfortunately, two days after I bought it, the motor seized up. In the meantime, I just aquired a 1991 Laser Turbo that runs very good, and has good compression. I am about to do some cutting and pasteing from the 91 to the 90, and my only real question is, which parts would you put on the 90 Talon from the 91 Laser that would be an upgrade.

I am also going to be doing some porting work while the motors are pulled out. I know I have read on the forums that there are a few things that are better. I guess I would just like to have a comprehensive list from someone that might have done this in the past.

I am sorry for the noobie question! Any and all help would be greatly appreciated!

nothing really just the engine swap to get your awd going again

but if your laser is an auto and the awd is a 5 spd then swap out the turbo and injectors

but really the laser is the worst out of the three like money wise

I just wanted to make sure that there wasn't any "fixes" going from 1990 to 1991. Like an ECU upgrade, MAF upgrade, intake manifold, exhaust manifold or anything like that.

The 1990 Talon is AWD and 5-speed.
The 1991 Laser is FWD and 5-speed.

you will need the '90 coil and '90 throttle body swapped to your running motor. as the '91+ are a different plugs to the wiring harness.

Here's my suggestion. Other than the 90 oil filter housing and cooler you want to use all the 91 engine parts and convert including the ECU and gauge cluster. If there was a easy way to convert the cruise control, I'd do it too.

You'll keep the 90 trans and have to change the engine to the 90 AWD flywheel to mate up.
