1G 1990 Shifter Cables

A bit confused on what I exactly need. I had one of my shift cables on my 1990 eagle talon tsi break.. I am under the impression that I can only use cables from another 1990. I also read that is may be possible to make the 91-94 cables work. Will the 91-94 cables be able to work on a 90 transmission? Thanks.

Use 90 cables unless your trans isn't from a 90

It is a 90 transmission. I just have to find the 90 shift cables.
