As you can see the gsx for 700 i told you all about isnt a 91 i guess, im not positive but the owners manual says 1990, is there any wheres on the car i can check to see the exact year, like the tail light? Me and my dad went to look at it today and the guy wasnt there:mad: so my dad left and i stayed and he came home 2 minutes after my dad left  i was so pissed, now we have to go back tommorow and he said he still dont have the key so i said, we will be back tommorow and i dont give a #### if you have to break the window to get into it i want to see the engine tommorow or im gonna explode... he said he will jimmy it if he doesnt have it by tommorow, and i stop at auto zone to look up the coil pack, obviously i told auto zone it was a 91 gsx not a 90 so it came up with a single ignition coil.. Im guessing only the 90 took a coil pack and the 91 takes a single coil... Either way im so pissed i have to wait longer.. i want this car so bad, and the funny part is he knows what its worth if he wanted to sell it... LOL ha OMG this is aggrevating.. you are all lucky you have good jobs and who ever lives on their own more power to you.. :toobad:

Open the driver side door and look along the back edge of where it closes, you should see then manufacuring info. If was made after 6/90 it would be considered a 91.

thanks, and can someone send me a photo of a stock 1990-1991 eclipse gsx engine so i know what i will be looking at.. im interested to see whats what...

A couple of quick differences in 1990s vs. 1991 (off the top of my head) include the throttle body (most 1990s have two hoses on top, 1991s have four), and ISC motor location. On a 1990, the ISC will be on the bottom front of the throttle body, and a 91 it will be located toward the back.
1990 AWDs also did not come in Automatic, in case this is automatic (if it is, dead giveaway that it's not a 1990 ;) )
Also, I don't think you will see ABS on a 1990 AWD. Certainly not if it has LSD (big orange sticker on the inside driver door panel will tell you if it has LSD).

There are other differences in CAS and ECU wiring, among a few other things, but the best way to do it is to check the title. Haha.

IIRC, ABS was an exclusive option... either ABS or the LSD. Though I'm not sure if ABS was offered on the '90 either.. have the LSD myself.

Also, if it has cruise control, the 1990 year had the 'master control box' to the left of the engine, when viewing from the front... two long black cables run over the top of the engine and terminate at a gold-ish box. 1991-1994 moved it so the cruise box was mounted between the engine and the firewall, with the cables looping into an oval shape.
You can see FemmeDSM's cruise box just in front of the battery, mounted at an angle.

Everybody is but there are two instances where it is important to seem otherwise: when asking for help, and when giving help.

Well I will tell you this, laziness will get you bounced out of here in a hurry. You want people to take the time to look up something for a car YOU'RE looking????

But yet you will take the time to carry your behind down there and look at the car again won't you?

Thread closed. You were told where to look.
