Hey guys I just got this 1990 eclipse gsx going and everything had been running smooth and driving well and I started hearing this nasty rattling noise and it started running rough so I pull over and smoke starts coming through my interior vents and coolant starts leaking down from behind the center console into my floorboard. Any thoughts? I'm guessing my heater core has a leak and is going out. Any advice would be appreciated, thanks!

I'm looking now and it's dripping on the drivers side about where the water pump would be. So I think I may have a bad water pump because that engine was getting pretty hot too

Well i think the heater core is also bad.. but yes its leaking inside but the hoses on the outside in the engine bay going into the fire wall are bone dry. And its wet around the base of the oil pan and dripping. But i think it's strange that the heater core and water pump would both go bad at the same time.. unless some pressure just built up going to the heater core and caused the hoses to leak or something.. I'm pretty confused. I'm getting towed home so I'll probably start tearing into it when I get back and check on it

Water pump maybe a casualty but I think your root cause is still heater core
That's possibly. But I saw a little resedue in my garage from something that looked an awful lot like the drip pattern I'm seeing from that drivers side of the motor now.

No I'm just confused about the situation ai understand your statement. Is there a heater control value on these that regulates the water going to my heater core? I know some cars have that. If that went bad is it possible that could've been what was leaking inside? Sorry I'm still kind of new to these cars.
