i just bought a MD128625 ecu it says highline on vfaq, is this a 1990 ecu. Why i ask is because i put it in my car and it runs really rough. if i hold the throttle open at any rpm it misses like crazy it seems to idle surge, and it dont want to hold its idle when i let off the gas. so is it a 90 and If it is i just have to switch pin 6 and 14 and it should be ok.
thank you

youll need the transistor pack, coil pack and dash tach from a 90 as well. The 90 ecu is a bit inferior to a 91-94 though, i would try to sell it and pick up a 91-94 instead.

or you can just swap #'s 6 and 14 with each other and it should work ok for you. It does with a 90 ecu in my 91 tsi anyway...

thats what i was thinking, i think if you have a 1990 car you have to change more things then just the 6 and 14 pin. but when you have a 91 to 94 car and want to use the 90 ecu you just have to change the pins around and it should work fine.
