1990 awd tranny problems

i need help with a tranny that grinds down shifting from 3rd to 2nd and i have to be completely stopped to get into 1st does anyone know what that is and can i make an adjustment to fix it or is it too far gone? please help!

A lot of our transmissions do this all the time. My last transmission always grinded from 3rd to second even when it was running well. I've heard so many people tell me of how their transmissions do it and they've tried every type of tranny oil out there and it didn't do much. All I can say is try some syncromesh if you don't already have it in there. After my transmission finally went I swapped in one from a 91 talon. You didn't just have this transmission installed recently have you?
