Is there anyway you can tell what size fuel pump you have. I got one off of a friend he says its a 190. I rewired it and it is still noisy. I heard if you rewire it just denten the sound some, but it is the same or a little bit quiter.
 
I have my 255 rewired with 10 gauge, and it is very loud. It can be heard about 5 feet outside the car, of course I dont have any back seats either. I look at it this way, the more power equals more sound.
