190 vs 255 fuel pump?

what size turbo are you planning on using if just stock 14b then I would get 190lph. If you are ever planning on going bigger then save up for 255 now with a fpr and some sort of tuning device. safc and pocketlogger. First find out what your goals are.

The 190 will support around 400whp. If you goal is under that then just go with the 190. If you get the 255 then you will need an afpr. Some say it is good to use with the 190 also to prevent too high of a fuel pressure. If you don't mind spending a little extra and getting the afpr then for sure just get the 255 as they are both priced at pretty much the same price. I went with the 190 as I don't plan on making over 350whp really and I did not have the money at the time to go with an afpr as well. I just rewired the 190 and called it a day.

I currently have an upgraded ecu and have DSMLink for tuning. I installed 750cc injectors and have a big 16g turbo but I am only running factory boost and will not boost past factory. I also have hks cam 264/272's. Can I get away with the 190?

Thanks!

Yeah as I said before the 190 will be sufficient up to around 400whp. At stock boost you will be no where near there so will be fine. Get a rewire kit and you will be fine. But as I mentioned earlier some people have expressed the need to get an afpr even with the 190. But over all it seems as if the 190 will be ok without one.
One question with that set up why would you only want to run stock boost? Seems like a lot of upgrades to only run stock boost, unless you are just waiting to get an exhaust or fmic or something.

The E316G usually is paired with the 190, A 50 trim or higher is paired with the 255/afpr/safc usually. The 190 might be good to 400 hp but the turbo definitly is not. If you plan on making over 300 hp anytime with your car go with the 255 and get a 50 trim turbo. Oterwise a 190 with rewire is a good idea

An evo3 16g turbo is plenty good for over 300whp. You just need to tune it and have supporting mods. I would say definitely go with your 16g and the 190. People have gotten over 400whp with the evo316g turbo. Not saying it would be easy at all and I would highly doubt you would attain numbers close to that but over 300 shouldn't be hard. But as you said anyways you are going to be running it at stock boost so you would be no where close to that really anyways. Regardless I would say go with the 190 pump rewired and you will be good. If you got a few extra bucks then get an afpr and the 255 with that for sure.

i got a 255 with a fmu and t4/t4 turbo
waiting on ym gauges and safc
but i've done some searching and just incase u amp up the boost its always good to have a 255 =)

The 190 will support up to 400whp, so really even bumping up the boost the 190 will be fine. To make it perfect or as close as possible, having an afpr will make it that much more correct as you will make sure you are not over running your stock fpr and running too high of a fuel pressure.

Sounds good, the 190 it will be.

Yeah I have got all the mods when I wanted a fast car but then when I had the Balance shaft eliminated, the mechanic didn't know to install a block off bearing and 500 miles later I spun ALL my rods and scored the crank, so I had to fix all that for about $3000 and so I decided enough of the high speed Sh*t for right now. Thanks for all the info and help!

even with a 190 you will need to get a fpr.its only a matter of time before your stocker crpas out with the 190

I don't see why so many people say you don't need an afpr with a 190lph, it is such a smart idea to get with any aftermarket fuel pump and should always be a mod along with an aftermarket fuel pump.

It's actually at low boost that you'll overrun your stock FPR - when it has to let by the most amount of fuel.

Thank you guys for the advice! Eventhough it's not my thread. Haha! I've been running the 190 for 2 years now, and the car knocks up top now. I had my money on the fpr, but now I'm sure it is after this thread. I feel way better! For now, I'll throw my friends low-mileage one on there for the rest of the season, then when the car sits over winter, I'll throw an AFPR on there. Thanks, guys!

Reggie

FPR Overrun only occurs at Idle/cruise, During WOT when the pressure rises it is not a Problem.

And just to add my .02 cents, I have run a 255 on the Stock FPR for years, car runs fine, gets great mileage, 14.7 AFR at Idle and all my Fuel Trims are within 2%.

Sorry to bring up a old thread but my goals consist of no more than 350whp. Will a 190 fuel pump paired with 550cc injectors be suffice ?

A 190 would be good if you are planning on running stock to mid levels of boost. Also you wont need a AFPR with a 190.
