well i been looking for some rims and i came up to these

18 inch rims

my question is how does 18 Inch look on a eclipse? WOuld those fit my 96 RS? i know they look beat but a fresh powder coat and bam looking new again. What u guys think? 200$ is like a deal

These are 18's on my car. They were silver and all banged up, my buddy and I sanded them down and repainted them gunmetal. I think 18's fill up the wheel well much better than 17's if your using small sidewall tires. These are 235/45/18.

I have 18inch wdm's on my 97 eclipse spyder look at my profile pic it might not be the best pic but you can get a idea until i post a better pic

You can find tons of pics on here of 18's. I have 18's my gallery doesn't have my newest set but it does fill the wheel wells outs nicely. You will have alot of people on here calling them uneccesary but I think they arent TOO big and fit just nice. Goodluck, let us know what wheels you pick!

You can also get the Evo VIII wheels they are 17s but they are sweet looking on 2gs they kind of look like the ones in your picture.

Thanks!

No, actually I don't. I need more negative camber in the front. But, there is a camber kit on there that my brother found this past summer, so I'm not sure what that's set for (if anything). We're not touching it since we don't trust it. I'm getting the SPC arms in the spring most likely.

My current camber settings are -.5 (left front), -.9 (right front), -1.6 (left rear), and -1.8 (right rear).

BTW, that's the recommended settings for those coilovers from Tein. I did not lower the car any more than what the instructions told me to set them at.

My drop is with Tein Basics. What blew me away is that there is no adjustable camber kit installed on my car, yet my camber is perfectly fine. It was all done by the guy who had the car before me, but there is no camber kit and the drop is like 2" much farther and I tuck my rear wheels.

I've got 18's on my GSX. 18X8's with 225/40/18 Hankook's dropped on some shitty H&R springs that came with the car. Looks good, but I was curious if anyone else ever has rubbing issues in the rear with the 8" wide wheels. This is my second DSM that I've had these wheels on and I had the same rubbing problem on both of them before I rolled the rear quarter panel wheel well lip.

Here's one of my favorite wheel pics from my gallery.

Anything less than 18s on these cars look too small. I have 18s on mine, slammed....they look good but now I want to upgrade to 19s

I have replicas of that same rim in 17"s and gunmetal, but i think im gona sell them and get some nice chrome 18s for the new 97 gsx im getting. Nothing beats red and chrome...

Chrome!?! I guess everyone is entitled their own opinion, and while I have nothing against chrome, but chrome wheels DO NOT BELONG on a sports car (the exception being old school muscle). Chrome belongs on luxury vehicles and that's it.

Again, that's just my opinion.... it's your car.

I feel the same way about body kits. Except i believe there is absolutely no circumstance to use a body kit. I have never seen a body kit I've liked. They are ALL tacky.

I have the same rims but gold and im lowered on skunk2 coilovers with no problems, look great too

The Talon in the top pic has 18's and the Eclipse on the bottom has 19's both cars have a 1.6" drop

I personally like 19's but they ride terrible :notgood:

looks good tho. I run 18 by 8 with 225/40/18 tires, 2in drop without fenders rolled. no rubing issues found.

Hmmmm... I wonder if the offset has anything to do with it. Unfortunately I'm not sure what the offset on my wheels is. I've thought about just going with a 35 series tire to see that would help, but damn they are so much more expensive then the 40 series tires. Not to mention there's a lack of selection in the 35 series tires for 18's.

Yeah offset and width. The wider the wheel and tire sticks out the more chance it will have of rubbing. My 19's NEVER rubbed cause they are 19x7.5 wheels with 225/35/zr19 tires. If I would have gotten 19x8 or 19x9 it would have rubbed. Possibly even with the same tires, cause a wider wheel will stretch the tire over the beads making it a little wider.

35 series on an 18" is too small overall diameter for our car....you need something like a 225/45/ZR18 That will keep it the most like stock.

Here is a 35 series tire on a 19

I'm not sure if I agree with that statement (unless maybe you're talking about stock ride height). I think this will mostly depend on your wheel size. I have 18x7.5 wheels that came with 225/35/18 and when I replaced them I went with 225/40/18. The 40's where the largest a few places recommended me to go with, otherwise rubbing may occur.

You're right, I'm sorry. My Talon in the picture with the 18's has 225/40/ZR18 NOT 45
I musta been thinking of my old 17's when I said 45. The 17's were 225/45/17

Although I still think 35 series on 18's is too small. Unless the tire is REALLY wide maybe. Cause the 35 rating is a Ratio between the width of the tire and the height of the sidewall.

I believe in the end you are looking for 24.5" tall tire or somewhere around there to keep the speedometer dialed in correctly.

I just hate super small sidewall tires, cause then the wheel well gap looks even BIGGER than it already is LOL. Plus they ride like skateboard wheels

Here are 2 of my old 2g's with 18's. Followed by my current car with 17's. I prefer 17s.

couple of the old ones.

95 gsx i had freshman year
