Hello. Sorry I didn't see this post until just now! If you stopped by the trailer, I hope I got a chance to talk to you! I was very busy trying to figure out my clutch gremlins all weekend! We had a tough, tough weekend and we'll come out stronger with clutch problems resolved next season!

Anyone know what happened to Nelsons car?I left after he made his last pass.

People were coming up to me saying that he put tranny fluid all the way down the 1/4 mile and people were really, REALLY pissed about it. I didn't see it, so I can't confirm it. He's a member here, though, so I'm sure he'll see your question and respond.
 
MY car was staged on the first bulb and the guy next to me took for ever to full stage when i already was at full stage , my car was on the t/q at 6500rpms with nitrous for over 17sec i knew that something was going to blow up , the car was hitting at 22psi at that point (0ver 900awhp) set to kill. The tree guy realized that he couldn't stage giving it to him the red light and let me go but it was to late. when i left the brake the car jumps and that was it getting on fire on the engine bay and a cloud of smoke behind and got off at the 1000 mark still lots of smoke but no fire at that point.
I think the rear clutch blow up due to over load with that power on hold and send the pressure to the dip stick and through oil all over the turbos, headers that cause the fire. By the way the waste gates houses were out though (set to kill).
I'm sure there was no oil on the track i have the diaper and under pan even when i stop the car there was not a drop on the floor.
About been on the over 10400 rev limiter for long time was because the throttler cable got stock some how, i was fighting with the pedal trying to release it till i shut it off on the kea , i couldn't see nothing at that point with all the smoke inside the car and see fire coming from the fire wall ,at that point i just wanted to get out of the car and be safe which i did after i stop the car out of the track.
If i had stop the car on the track soon i hear the boom and saw the fire my car will be burn to the ground and there will be way more time to clean and me with a burning car. Still the damage is big but i will get back soon.
We only arrived at 3:00 AM on saturday due to the bad storm we had here in new york i did my best to be there , we left a lot of things behind to show up there...
Best event ever...can't wait for WCF 2013.

PS: It is easy to talk from the tower and see things from out side (with all the respect to MIR crew they are the best) but be in a car tire up that you only can see forward and with all the smell burning smoke seen fire coming to your feet and the car still on the rev limiter is NO FUN...

That sucks, I'm glad to hear you'll get things fixed up. Your car is one of my favorite cars to watch.

We'll be there next season without a doubt! We'll have our usual schedule of MIR, Maple Grove, Atco, and Englishtown so there will be plenty of races we'll be at with the cars.
 
Awesome event, as usual. If I can make my car fast next year I really want to bring it down. I'd hate to miss the event though, it's the only one where I actually enjoy spectating. :)

did you by chance catch the wild race on sundays finals when chris miller broke and tried to push his car the entire length. congrats to that determination on both drivers parts.

We were in every qualifying session, with my last hope for a clean pass being against Don Roberto during Q4, where we ate up every clutch related part inside the bellhousing, and some stupid ass (me) left before the tree was activated. We had a fuel leak (loose AN fitting) in the video you took of us. And I would have been playing catchup with El Humilde. Those guys have that car REALLY figured out, while we're still finding glitches that we didn't know were there. Next year, we'll have the new car bugs ironed out, and we'll keep on pushing the 4G63 as hard as we can! Thanks for the coverage!!

Hey, you got our burnout at 13:54 in the video! Thank you! We got shut off because of a fuel leak on that pass, which is why El Humilde made the pass by himself.
