Hey guys, ive been searching on the forum for a answer to this question but most people are rolling on 16's (and if 17" they are 7"... not 7.5"). I bought these rims a few months ago and they have been sitting in my garage (ive been waiting until i get my licences, witch is in a few weeks.). Now im looking for tiers to fit on them and im completely clueless.. They are 17"x 7.5" rims with a 40mm offset (i also have no idea what that means.:ohdamn:).

My car is not lowered but i might lower it in the future with one of the first two on this link: Suspension Products for 1995 Eagle Talon Tsi AWD

So please help me out, what size would be a good size without it lowered and with it lowered. Also what does offset mean???

Thanks in advance. --Sherif :banghead:

Do a lot more research! It is all on here. Go to the tech articles and look through those, followed by looking what other people have done with their wheel and tire setup.

Here's a good place to start:

Edit:^^ beat me to it

Ohh wow. im sorry guys. Thanks alot. Well any input on the springs i posted??

On average (or a good estimate), the car is going to be lowered about 1.5" more or less with any suspension/coilover kit you purchase. On the link you posted, I would probably go with the Koni Sport Yellows and H&R Springs. There is great research on every spring, strut, or coilover you could ever think about buying here on DSMTuners. Give a search through product Product Feedback or just search for the exact name you are interested in.

Here is a great link that talks about spring rates and what to look for:

For a 7.5" wide wheel you will want 225 or 235 width tires. You will have more clearance with the 225s, especially in the rear of the car.

Also what does offset mean???

Offset is the distance in millimeters from the center of the tread that the wheel's mating surface is placed. Positive offset moves the tire inboard further, negative offset makes the wheel more concave.
