I was wondering if anyone has tried the wastegatet actuator that FP is selling right now. I plan on putting a T28 on my car later this year but thinking about putting this actuator on temporarily, because my T25 will make about 16psi but fall to about 10. will this actuator make me hold 15-16psi all the way to redline or is the turbo just getting worn out after 96K?

I used to have the 17psi actuator on my T25. It held about 13psi til redline. I sold it a week later to save up for a 50 trim. Months later I have the first turbo I wanted, the FP Big28. The turbo now holds 17psi til redline fine and really pulls hard compared to the T25. I dont think the actuator is really needed until your pushing around 22psi (on race gas). :thumb:

I have one used it on the T25 till I went to the 14b then the T3/T4. It will hold more boost longer but won't do 17 psi till redline. The T25 just can't flow enough air to support it.
It does however eliminate boost creep and works very well on the T28 holding 17 psi to redline. Don't forget its adjustable so you can run more or less then 17 psi.

I have mine forsale used it like 3 months I'll take 1/2 of what force wants.

If its only going to hold 13 psi till redline it doesnt really seem worth it. I was hoping it would make my turbo perform like a new T25

I'm currently running the FP 17lb actuator with my FP ported Big28, and it has helped my boost drop off problems very well. I run 20psi daily, and it use to drop off to about 15psi by redline before the actuator upgrade, and now I can hold 20psi all the way to redline. I also have all supporting mods including HKS 264/272 cams if that even means anything. But... just keep in mind that if you do decide to run the 17lb actuator, you won't be able to run anything below 17psi. It's also a little aggravating to get it adjusted to where you need it set, but over all I'm very pleased with my purchase. ;)

I have no probs running 20psi to redline with my T28

Just thought I'd chime in that my t25 holds 16psi to redline with my ebc. Granted I don't run it normally over 12psi because it sucks anyway. :thumb:

You must be one of the very few with a 28 series turbo that is not experiencing flapper door blow open. Consider yourself lucky. :)

That is untrue you can back the arm off for less then 17 psi I know this because when I first test drove my car it was only hitting 12 psi and I remember quite well almost burning my hand trying to adjust the WG with a 2000* turbo! So you can go more or less then 17 psi. It is adjustable for more or less with the arm. You don't need MBC with the accuator but you can run it I never did once I installed the FP accuator.

I can't run anything below 17psi with mine for some reason, not that I would won't to, because 17psi isn't nothing on a FP Big28. The actuator is suppose to be preset with a 17lb spring, hence the reason it's called a 17lb wastegate actuator, meaning you should not be able to run lower than 17psi with it. I have no earthly idea why you can, or did run lower boost with yours, because I can't! Call up Robert at FP and ask him. Also, the stock T25 wastegate actuator has an 11lb spring, and when I had my stock T25 several years ago I could never get it to run lower than 11psi, even with the wastegate actuator upgrade that HRC use to sell. :)

I am having the same thing on 98 gsx. If any one has any ideas on the woo, woo, woo pulsing let me know as well.
