16G turbo install kit doesnt work

I am not trying to argue, but how can you look at that kit and tell its crap? It is just some metal lines and gaskets. I ask because I bought that kit but haven't paid yet. What is lower quality about it?

Just by looking at the drain line i know for a fact that it will cause a kink in the line. Having working on tons of these cars helps out a lot also. Also it has 2 extra lines that don't go to anything. It is crap plain and simple.

I bought that same kit for my 16g years ago and I am still using most of the part's it came with. The only thing I did different was get a fitting to run from head since its a small 16g. I tried it first with the fitting for the ofh and without a restrictor of some sort your turbo may smoke. Mine did atleast, but once I switched to head it hasn't once in 4 years.

Hate to break it to ya but a 4g63t is pretty much the same in all dsms.
^That's what I was thinking. I know someone who has a 1995 eclipse but was manufactured in 1994. Not a thing was different with his oil feed or return.

ASA lists the '95 and early '96 models had different lines, MR204474 (superceding MR161375) and MR161690 compared to the later 2Gs, MR299881 and MR299880, respectively for the OFH side and turbo side. Just sayin'.

Looks like it has everything for a water-cooled turbo to me. Sure the coolant lines in the kit probably aren't the best idea, but hey.

yeah i clicked on it, i didnt look at where it says it was from. but man, everything on ebay is china these days. let us know after you try to install if it we were wrong.

Bro I dont usually do this, but your posts are worthless. If your only point is the country of origin, then BIG F****ING DEAL! You have made absolutely no point as to how that affects the quality of the kit. Also you have given no experience in use of the kit. Do you ACTUALLY know anything about materials and what these fittings are made out of compared to ones from other vendors? Why are you in this thread? Also after I buy it I will install it, but I am still not sure if I will be able to let you know where it came from.... :ohdamn::banghead:

K well since everybody seems to think this kit is so damn horrible what would you all suggest. I have a j pipe now.

Modify the stock drain line to fit the tdo5 by slotting the holes, buy a stock 1g feed line, banjo bolts, and crush washers. Than buy new mounting gaskets. You can use the t25 water lines on the tdo5 turbo if you buy the 1g banjo bolts for them. You will also need to block off the hole in the oil filter housing with a 3/8 plug.

Heres an idea.... lets all grab a hammer and smack each other in the balls. Fyi just about everything we have in the us is manufactured in an aisian country. China has nothing to do with his quality of parts. WE sell them their raw materials. As far as the first production thing id have to say they lied to him. Its an easy excuse for accidentally putting the wrong parts in the box. Just a guess but without looking id bet what they put in the kit was ntp fittings instead of metric threaded parts.

That kit works fine. Here is a little secret, it doesn't matter who assembles all the cheap parts to make oil lines and such. whether it is form STM, or FP or ebay, oyu getting the same crap.

It sounds like the original poster is might be the problem, not the install kit. I use this kit on my car with no problem whatsoever. In fact, I bought it because I had to replace a $70 MAP feedline that burst at the swivel after only 3 months of ownership. Also, I very much prefer the design of this oil drain or FP to any other oil drain on the market. Most of these dumb ass "legit" vendors kits include abraided hose with permanent (like brake line style, not reusable AN type fittings)hose ends already installed that is 10 inches to long to work as a DSM drain pipe. That should show you how much care they put into gathering together their "high quality" parts for theiir kits.

The only thing I can say about this kit is that the return line fittings are VERY bulky, so clearance with the front waterline banjo with 1g lines can be tight, but using an aftermarket waterline like that included in the kit solves that issue.

n the end, no matter who you buy it form, they are all assembling the kits form cheap foreign made parts. So just assemble oyur own kit or buy the cheapest you can find.

I like how thissuddenly turned into ME bein stupid.... Hahaha. So since my kit does not bolt up (all of the threads are coarse and the dsm threads are fine) and NONE of the nuts fit IM the one doing it wrong. And one of my waterlines was cracked and i couldnt get it of so it wouldve been pointless to save. If you dont have somethin to help me with, do me a favor and f*** off ;)

Will i have to remove the male to male in the turbo that i put in to get the banjo fitting in the turbo?

im buying the same kit. i think if u install it right everything should be fine. i'm doing my tomorrow and i'll post up the process
