okay guys its time to move up...i think my 14b has had enough so im trying to decide first of all which turbo upgrade would give me less trouble down the road big 16g, big t28 or t3/t4? im about to get the turbo manifold, fmic, fuel pump, injectors and all the good things that are necessarily but im not gona do any internal mods cause the build engine only has 1000 miles on it so i dont want to touch it. which would be the best company to buy the turbo of and the fmic? what about the turbo manifold and o2 housing? lets hear it guys cause im sick of my buddy running 13.0 sec with his 97 jetta and bragging about it all the time..LOL.

Depends on your performance goals.

If ok with a turbo that supports 400-450WHP, Forced Performance has their 18Gs on sale in the vendors section. A bit more ballz than the EVO16G and would fit just the same as your 14B :dsm:

DSM90AWD, I want to jump in on this one.

erald01, to use a t3/t4 turbo, you will need a good t3 exhaust manifold, extrernal wastegate, o2 housing and oil feed and return line.

You don't go cheap on those parts. There are pros and cons with either t3/t4 or mitsubishi turbos. There are many threads on here that discuss the difference.

If you really want to go that way, then do it. Just remember what you are jumping into when you do it.

I have known of both types making great power and alot of it has to do with how you tune your setup.

Keep us posted on what you decide and problems you run into.

Well my experience with the T3/T4 was not that great, it takes a lot of rpms to properly make use of the T3/T4 and you do have to make a lot of changes it's not a bolt on like the mitsus/ after all you do with it, it makes your car feel like it's just used for drag cause it won't wake up until you are pushing it, so if you use it for commute and aren't going to the local drag strip every other night then I'd opt out of it, you would get much more use of a big 16g or the new evo turbos they are designed for quick spool and still give you the volume that you would ever need until you step into competition type set ups then I would definitely say go with a higher volume turbos.
