16g oil return line leaking..........

My 1990 Talon Tsi's 16g oil return line is leaking right where the ribbs are.Any other solutions besides dealers 63 dollar pipe?thanks

Did you check to see if it was coming from the gasket?

wrap teflon tape around the threads since the two threads never line up correctly..

-Saw off the flex section, replace it with a oil resistance rubber hose, secure with hose clamps at each end of the hose.

I actually had to do this today, it was to long after i installed my turbo back on the car because the header pushed down the turbo. I cut the flex out, Got a piece of hose and two clamps, Got it adjusted to my size, Clamped the clamps down tight

-Lbs of boost has nothimg to do with the oil, if you worry about the hose slipping off the pipe, you can always put a small flare on each end of the pipe, I think it's 3/8" ID hose.

Just take the thing off, saw off the flex section, bring the two pieces into Pepboys and find the size hose that fits snuggly on there. Badda bing! Plus now it will be easier to pull on and off because it'll be much easier to allign since its much more malleable then the firm stock one.
