Hello fellow dsmtuners. I am recently putting my car back together and I'm almost done. Today I bolted up the 16g and went for a test run. I saw no smoke at all behind me, but when I opened the hood there was smoke coming out of the turbine housing section. Now my guess is the oil passed thru the seal and it was burning the oil.

Now I have a SS braided line feeding the turbo from the head. I got all the correct fitting on it (or so I thought.) Running e/wastegate via o2 housing if that matters. Thanks for the help...

I doubt high oil pressure is a problem if feeding from the head. Sounds more like you have an oil leak to me.

Could be the vc, oil feed, oil return, etc. if you have a pressurized oil leak it can fly everywhere easily. I had an oil leak that was causing it to smoke under the hood after a hard run and it was the return line.

Have you checked to make sure everything is still tight? Did you use an old turbine to o2 housing gasket or buy a new one? If you have a leak from the turbo return line you'll notice fairly quick, itll leave a puddle on the ground. However, under hard driving it could drip oil onto the exhaust causing it to burn off and smoke. Also if there was a leak from the oil feed you'd know real quick by starting the car and just looking.

Do you happen to have a picture of the line attached to the head? There are copper crush washers that go on each side of the banjo bolt when you screw it to the head to form a seal. If you reused your old ones or forgot to use them then that could cause a small leak that would run down the outside of the line and hit the turbine housing.

Before start up list.

Gaskets, crush washers, tighten everything up.Recheck.

Engine running watch for leaks. Now remember the bottom middle stud that holds manifold to head, and also the bottom right one as well. The middle one has an oil galley right behind it.And if no stud is there it will an obvious oil leak.

Also be careful when tightening that banjo bolt on the head. Too much and it will snap right off. Happened to me because I was a dumbass and didn't use new crush washers. That bolt is hollow in the middle.

Problem is I dont have the original banjo bolts for it. I put a ss line with a.n. Bolts that bolt up to the line. I saw a small puddle of oil right now where the line meets the turbo, but is there a way to put washers with a.n.'s? I will surf the web to find a pic of a similar setup I have since im at work. Thanks for the help guys.

You would have to post a picture so we can see. You can order a stock banjo bolt and washers from Extremepsi. Even probably get a stock feed line.
