Well i want to know who has a 16g and it boost creaps.

I still have stock 1g manifold but i have full 3" from the turbo all the way back with no boost contorl i still boost creap really bad. with the waste gate not hooked up and the flaper wired open i don't make any boost tell 4200 rpm. Which is fine, but then from 4700rpm to 7000rpm i can hit 20psi. I am running no cat non ported evo3 16g, the turbo is not a 16g GT either.

The rest of my mods are in my profile.

Port the exhaust housing on the turbo. With the 3" exhaust, you have virtually no restrictive backpressure, which would've maked those boost creep problems.

Btw, running a cat will not help with your boost creep problems. With a high flow cat, on my unoported 16G, I was still creeping up to 23 psi.

A cat still provides some resistance, even if its not all that much. I picked up a few more mph consistently when removing mine at the track. Not sure how significant it really was, but I was running dead on consistent mph till the switch.

Fixed it a long time ago by porting the turbine housing and the exhaust manifold. Also did the flapper upgrade. It'll still creep w/ a cat, just not as much though.

It can be fixed by porting, it's been said a million times. I've ported so many 16g's, and not one of them has boost creep problems.

Exactly, I've done 2 with proper porting and we can both hold 14 psi and maybe even lower with zero creep, not that you would ever want to run 14 psi :D

I was creeping really bad with a manuel boost controller but as soon as i got my apexi avc-r hooked up and tune i got a solid 20 psi to red line in all gears. No wg flapper mod, just ported.

Yes I know. Porting and external wastegates will solve the boost creep. BUT, porting is time consuming and only doable if you have the right tools. Not to mention you need to pull the turbo off and re-install it to do it. Going external is just plain expensive nowadays.

If I keep it below 4500 rpm and not WOT, then it wont go past 11psi, which is enough for me to get around town through traffic!! As soon as I go WOT and reach 4000 rpm, it feels like another 15hp, and the boost creeps from 10-11 psi up to about 15psi, which is fine. If i take it past 5000rpm or so, I can reach 20psi+. I have no porting and 3" exhaust with a CAT, and external dump, which is useless other than for scaring people..

There are other benefits with porting vs external like quicker spool, better flow, lower engine bay temperature, pretty much free, less noise, passing inspections.....etc, I $35 in tools tops. With the same techniques which has been posted, my current internal gated GT12 holds 12psi to redline.

Well i think i am going to port the turbo when i take it off to do a manifold. i don't know if the SBR mani is worth the double the price almost as the evo 3 this car is my winter beater anyway that is why i have not really fixed the boost creep. but when something needs to be replaced i put a better part on the car. and in dsm fashion the car is getting to be pretty fast now.
