i started driving today after making adjustments last night because my car wouldnt exceed 12 psi. well now at 15 psi the car does the same. im curious if its fuel cut or if its just getting too much fuel. itlle hit 15 psi and bogg down but if i stay on it, it will pass 15 but still bog down. I also thought the previous owner installe a fuel pump since its very loud even inside the car. And the car has 1000 cc injectors. am i wasting my time trying to figure this out?

That doesn't sound like fuel cut. It normally feels like you just hit a brick wall. Very hard shut off. Sounds like you have another issue(s) going on.

Holy Crap! I hope you're tuning with something....Anything. Those 1000's would drown you in excess fuel. Bearing damage can occur from the fuel washing the bearing clean of oil losing all lubrication.....

Ps update your profile so we know what you're working with.

What are you using to tune with? And you definitely need a Wideband O2 to log how rich you are.

If you are bogging down and it feels like it lost a whole bunch of power, you are probably way too rich. If you had fuel cut you wouldn't have posted like that, you would have said "OMG MY CAR IS POSSESSED AND ABOUT TO DIE!!" because it really is like hitting a brick wall for a second.

Any why did you make another post about the same problem that you just posted yesterday? You never replied to that one on what you are using to tune with. You are probably just running a chipped ECU, who knows what tuning device if any, no aftermarket fuel pressure regulator and a 255 fuel pump. You need to give all the information on you car.

What you really need to do is put the old eprom chip back in the ECU, reinstall the stock injectors and fuel pump and wait till you have all the supporting mods to install that stuff. You need an aftermarket fuel pressure regulator (despite what some might say, the WB O2 doesn't lie you are still running rich with a 255 without a AFPR), a wideband O2, and a decent tuning device. You can't just run off a chipped ECU, thats just a basic tune, you can still run rich or lean which is why you need a tuner.

FYI, hes running a 14b turbo.

:thumb: 91 talon awd with a 14b... I have a 3"inch intake from extreme pipe(rubbing on the lower coolet pipe) 2.5" turbo back exhaust K*N fiter grimmspeed mbc.. turned up to 15psi ran great with 255 fuel pump. but hit fuel cut. turn down to 13.5-14psi big diffenct than stock 9psi..running 94oct fuel.
need 22spline awd trans and clutch:banghead:

but will not go to red line stock psi or not don't know why helpWTF

There's your starting point.

Still see nothing to tune those injectors with, or to log. That's what you need to do. I dont see how you are hitting fuel cut with 1000cc injectors and a 255 fuel pump on only 15 psi. I ran 18psi on a 14b with stock injectors and just a fuel pump rewire. You need to take all that off or get something to control it with and log it with. No one can tell your a/f ratios by magic, you need a wideband o2, and also a logger to see everything else. I don't know what your goals are but 1000cc injectors are way over kill, 550cc injectors will get you max power with a 14b and be way less trouble.

^^ agree, from my experience with "fuel cut" i had a 88 supra fully stock i shimmed the wastegate for fun the boost instantly went up from stock 6.8 to 13psi when i jumped on the gas the fuel cut would hit and what happen with me was all the warning lights would flash like check engine, brake, oil then the car would jerk violently like when you start a manual car in gear and it throws you half a foot

i have to install safc. but i have no stock chip. so once i swap to smaller injectors would i still need to change chip or will the afc be fine?

hey Morris what 1000cc you talking about? i have stock injectors and only controll I have is not good but apexi asfc2, I'm trying to match the output of the importtuner powerpage for the talon awd 1992 300hp or so and they have no loggin tool right. with their setup and Fmic 320awhp would work:aha:

Quit while your ahead, sell the injectors, buy dsm link, get Evo injectors. Put it all together.

dsm link is pretty pricey, and im sure selling the injectors wont cover it haha. But i was going to put stock injectors with the afc and go from there.

Do you think i can just keep the injectors and do an adjustable fuel pressure regulator and afc to stay on the safe side? or should i just lose the 1000's

I doubt the SAFC will effectively tune injectors that large. Loose them or trade them for some stuff and 550-650's. Only install them when you can tune

The ECU determines when to initiate fuel cut based on airflow. It has no idea what injectors you throw in it , what size fuel pump you have, or how you power that pump.

A DSMLink is not much more than an SAFC setup. It's the proper way to tune a car and having a car not blow up is worth the little extra money spent. Even if you have smaller injectors that an SAFC can tune in doesn't mean you should ever go that route. It's up to you whether you want your timing advance under complete control, or to be random.

well it didnt have an safc i bought one to install. but maybe i should just run e85 and get it tuned. because when i got the timing it was really advanced so i backed it off to stock.
