Ok, I just installed my 14b I got from ebay. The has little to no shaft play. After everything was installed, I then turn on my engine and oil started leaking from the bolt from the feed line that bolts on top of the center piece of the turbo. I then took it off and reinstalled it and same thing happen again. How can this happen, I used twp different bolts. Does this mean that the turbo is bad.
Can I reuse the same NEW oil that I've just put in.

I've spend two days on this turbo and I am exhausted any help will be appriciated.

Replace the washers. Sometimes you can get away with reusing crushwashers, but most of the time, you can't. Get new crushwashers for the oil feed line, the coolant feed and drain line, and get a new gasket for the oil drain line.

BTW, you are using those washers at the top and bottom of the banjo fitting, right?

From what I took off from the turbo, it came as two regular washer at the top screw and the copper crush at the contact surface. Everything is hook up correctly and works well except the oil leaks from the feed bolt. It leaks a lot of oil.

At first I tighten it normally and it leaked, so the second time with a different bolt I tighten very tightly.
I can get the copper crush from ACE Hardware right.

Don't tell me my turbo is bad, because I don't feel like reduing the whole process again.

Thanks guys.

that has nothing with the turbo being bad.. it just means you have a nasty oil leak. try looking to putting some teflon tape on the fitting. DONT overtorque..

Do as he said, put some teflon tape around the threads for the oil feed.

I've never done the teflon thing on the turbo but do you guys think it can handle the high temperature?

You could also try Loc-Tite, which is a thread sealer. That's what I used on my recent 14b install and I have no leaks what-so-ever!

I just finish putting two new copper crush and still leaks bad. I did'nt over torgue this time. I'll try the taflon and lock tite, man this is very tiresome.

You mentioned using new bolts right? Are you using Banjo bolts?!?!?! I dont know if i am reading this wrong but its leaking from where the line bolts to the top of the turbo. i cant see teflon helping since its a banjo bolt and oil doesnt go near the threads. make sure you have one crush washer top and bottom and that its a banjo bolt. just my thoughts hope it helps

you could be using the wrong length banjo bolt, if you are even using a banjo bolt.

always use new crush washers.

if your in a pinch & need to reuse them, heat them up till they are cherry red & let them cool down. then you can reuse them.

The bolt that I am using are both banjo's. One came right off the 14b and the other came off of an t3/t4 which uses the same cartrige. This is my four attemp, reinstall it with the two new copper crush and this time with lock tite like what ""guitarXgeek"" suggest it. Let see what happens tommorow. I'm calling it for the night

Lock tite did not work, still leaks. Fifth attempt, now I am using RTV and taflon seal maker and taflon tape. Let see if this works.

What will be next if this does not work.

HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

maybe the threads on the turbo are damaged. post some pics.

When all else fails, replace everything. Go to the dealer, get a new supply line, crush washers, and banjo bolts. I had the same problem when I installed my 16G so I just went and replaced everything. Haven't had a leak problem since.

OK, I just want to thank all you guys for your help. DAMMMMMM, with all the last stuff I said I'd installed with.... Stills leak, but this time not so much. The turbo runs good :thumb:
I might be selling my t3/t4. This is still new with reciept, =~ 7k miles and never seen 16psi. This turbo is way to big for me and I still like my car running good and not blown to pieces. I tried my best at self tuning and my motor started sounding weird after 4500RPM fuel hesitation . With this set up and no expirence, I didn't allow my car to run over 5kRPM. Scared to shit that I might blow my motor and now I am turning my car back to stock.

Last Question?????

Does anyone know how to reset the SAFC2. I try unhooking the harness and wow the car starts and dies. I'm turning my car back to all stock. All the pumps, 550cc, FPR , SAFC2 and t3/t4 is all out.

I might be selling all of these with turbo for a good price. I just recently got these less than 3 months with recipt.

I'll try to post some pic.
Thanks

after initialize, do I have to reset the ecu because I press initialize,,,"yes" ..unplugged the harness, and nothing happens. Turn on the motor and idles wierd, then check light came on. This is like before.

replug the SAFC2 and hi, low, throttle settings are the same.

Here are some pictures of the aftermarket stuff I took off.
Not sure what size turbo but the place I bought it said t3/t4 hybrid. I thinking 50 trim cuz its 3" inlet. This turbo is too huge for a newbbbbb.
