can i run the oil line to the turbo from the head and just block off the original feed line from the oil filter housing? any help would be appreciated.

If I remember right, its better to supply it from the stock 2G location.

It's pretty simple, just need a SS oil feed line and a few fittings. I had to find mine at a piping store, but it works great.

thats the problem. i dont have any other supply lines except the stock 1g and it goes to the head. i just need to know if it will hurt anything running it from this location?

Don't quote me as this being the most accurate information. When I did this swap I remember reading things concerning using the head as an oil source. I remember reading you won't be able to obtain the same oil pressure, and also the oil may be "dirtyer" from the head as well. I'd suggest getting that SS oil line, think its a much cleaner way of installing as well.

well i guess the only thing holding me back from the ss line is that its 12:11 am here and i need a way to get to work at 7 in the morning tomarrow. if the line coming from the head will work it will have to make due until i have the time to order a ss line.

IF YOU HAVE ANOTHER KIT OR YOU HAVE PURCHASED THE 94' GSX OIL FEED

The oil feed line should be exposed and close to the cylinder head feed location if you have installed the line on the turbo correctly. There is currently a plug in the cylinder head oil feed location. Remove the plug and put the banjo bolt through a crush washer, through the banjo bolt fitting, through another crush washer and finally thread it into the cylinder head. Tighten this banjo bolt to 10-14 ft-lbs. Tighten it SLOWLY, as many times the threads in the head can strip. If it seems like it is just spinning and not tightening, remove it, you may find the threads from the head are stripped out. Unfortunately all you can do at this point is stuff some cloth into the head to catch chips, remove the hex plug at the front of the head, and drill and tap to install a 10mmx1.25 HeliCoil (NOT fun).

Exerpt from a 16G install, essentially the same I guess. Go for it! Hope you make it to work on time hehe :nono:

I just routed it from the head. A 14b off a 1g used oil from the head, so i opted to do the same.

well thanks guys but i didnt make it to work today....sick day (cough cough) i need more parts than i thought...the j pipe slowboy sent me is the wrong one..is the only problem with welding stanless steel that it can kill you with the gasses or something like that...cuz i could mig weld it alot faster then sending it back to slowboy and getting the right one. thanks again

I don't think you can mig stainless unless you get the appropriate wire/gas combination... usually TIG is the recomended method to weld Alum and SS, but you could probably use Oxy/Acetylene if you're good with it, or stop at the local welding shop and ask about wire for SS

thats what i thought about ss but i wasnt sure. thanks. i would just cut the j pipe and use the stock rubber hoses to get from the j pipe the the sidemount if i didnt think that not having the little hump on the end of the j pipe to keep the couplers from blowing off was of any importance. or do u guys think that it will stay together with out that hump?

it *might* stay together... might not... you could use a hammer and a punch to put little nubs around the edge of the J where you want the hump, if you space them out evenly and put about 6 or 8 good nubs in, you shouldn't have to worry about it... but you might be better off calling up slowboy and having them send you the right one... if you're diplomatic and explain your situation and ship that one back, providing them with a tracking number, you might be able to get them to overnight you one today...

ok im in the process of doing the same thing due to my t-25 going to shit and me haveing my 14-b from my old car. what all did you have to do? i have everything except the j pipe and the ss lines. cant i run the tubes to the intercooler from the top like the 1st gens do? ( i think.. its been a while ) and if you have yours done cause you possibly send me pix? ide greatly apreciate it. im kind of in a place where auto parts stores are almost non existant and i have to make alot of my parts. the only store i have here is napa and some store called western auto.(st. thomas us virgin islands) so anything would apreciated..

Eh my t25 is about to die soon as well. I was looking at the 14b/16g install kit on SBR (http://slowboyracing.com/more.php?id=93&), it's just like the DIY Kit off of RRE but includes more gaskets. Anyways RRE says you can use the T-25 water lines on the 14b, just switch the sides around? Also the 2g oil drain needs to be filed on the side of the turbo to match up to the 14b?

you can use the water lines of the t25 with a some bending. and the oil return line will also work with just a little fileing of the bolt holes. im past all that good stuff...the only things i have left to do is figure out what im going to do with the j pipe that is made for a fmic and is 6 inches too long and find a little nipple that will fit in the 14b for a boost source (some how the fitting didnt get sent from slowboy with the turbo?!) i guess there must have been a missunderstanding with the guys at slowboy because i thought i was to receive just about everything i needed to bolt this turbo up. i dont know what happened. however i did call slowboy today and they said i could send back the j pipe for a fmic and they could cut and weld the pipe to make it fit "better" since i still have the side mount. all i have to pay for is the shipping, which is okay but i am going to see if i can get some stainless wire for my welder tomarrow. in the end i think this 14b is going to be alot more work than its worth. the talon better pull a whole hell of alot harder.

:talon:

well i got her running tonight. started her up. leaked oil from the stock feed line (didnt have it clamped off good enough). fixed that. checked for other leaks. seemed good. took her out the road...ran alright didnt seem like it had anymore power than with the t25(actaully felt weaker). came back and the water line on the back of the turbo (beside the block) is leaking. i guess i just need to take it all back apart just for some crush washers. which sucks big time. well tomarrow should be fun. thank you everyone for your help.

:talon:

That sucks, I hope I don't end up with a 14b that feels weaker...it's slow as it is. About the nipple you mentioned, the j-pipe included with the 14b/16g install kit off of SBR doesn't come with one?

nope there is no boost source one the j pipe that i got. i just ran a line from the intake to the waste gate acuator. and you can weld stainless with regular wire with a mig. found that out last night. :talon:
