14b install. porting and other questions.

Shop couldnt get at the bolt good enough. quoted me $600 to pull the motor to get at it. noooooot too sure about that one, ill be getting a second opinion tomorrow. although on the way too and from the shop, it sure did seem to have a lot more pep with that new turbo. even only at 10psi as opposed to my normal 15 psi


buuuuut.... now the oil return line is leaking almost as bad as the oil feed leak was! i tried fixing it before work. the line was a little long anyhow and kind of kinked, so i decided to cut it down a little bit to maybe relieve some stress on the stripped out bolt holes in the oil pan. welllllll i cut it about a ½"-1" too short. project is going to have to wait til tomorrow morning to get to autozone to buy some new shit. the process has been slow, but you live and you learn.

1. For those of you that previously had the Greddy lower intercooler pipe that was for the T25, dont throw it away. I simply cut mine like this, and it fit PERFECTLY.

2. This is the coupler i used between the cut Greddy lower intercooler pipe and the J pipe. not very long, fit like a glove.

3. This is everything put together just before droping it in. Went in effortlessly without the drivers side fan and the big upper radiator hose disconnected.

4. This is whats left of that Greddy lower intercooler pipe. Notice that i cut the corner of the "upper" side of it. after cutting this end off, the rest of the pipe connected very similar to when it was connecting to the T25.

5. This is what the oil feed connection looks like using the extremepsi.com install kit. DO NOT OVERTIGHTEN THAT BLUE PIECE!

6. This is the other end of that feed line and how it connects to the oil filter.

7. This is the extremepsi oil return setup. When i first installed it, the hose was too long and kinked itself. It also put a lot of pressure on my alreayd stripped bolts that held it to the oil pan. After cutting it too short, i had to go guy more hose. (thats why it looks diff. form the kit. I measured the cut hose to be 6½" long. Notice also that the bottom fitting going into the oil pan is cocked a little bit. that also made it fit a little better. You'll also notice that the little lip going around the edge of the oil p an has been hammered in a little bit to give it better clearance.


I'm thinking of doing a writup for this what do you think?

i had that same oil return line and had the same problem as you did as far as leaking and length of line, and after a month or so the rubber line pinched and since iwas afraid that oil was going to back up into the turbo i went with the 1g oil return line, now i have no leakage and dont have to worry about it pinching or anything. I beleive the line is only about 50 or so from the dealer.

mines not pinched/kinked whatsoever. it WAS though, . they key was cutting it the right length, and hammering in that lip on the oil pan.
