i think my 13g is starting to go. im saving for a better setup (b16gt from turbochargers.com, 550cc's, SAFC, (I have the 2g manifold & o2 housing)). but since the turbo is going i only have enought right now for the 16g. is it possible to swap out the turbos for the time being. im not trying to be some stupid kid trying to fit a big turbo in without any mods, its just that i dont want to spend he money on another 13g or 14b just to put in the 16g later. so i was wondering if i just stayed at stock boost will the 16g turbo be able to get me around in the mean time

You will need to change oil feed and return as well as both coolant lines.
The 13g is a tdo4 turbo.

Sorry to thread jack but since I am new to a dsm I was wondering which cars came with a 13g turbo? I thought they all came with the 14b.

Thanks
DB

If you absolutley want to buy it before the other upgrades and can't wait to put it on, you have a boost controller so keep the boost low enough because you'll be pushing a lot more air. If you give it too much air without the rest of the fuel mods, its not gonna be good, so just keep boost pretty low. Also, your car might not run as well as before until you get it tuned after the bigger turbo. I put my turbo on before I finished my fuel and I kept it below 5psi on my 57trim, it ran kind of akward until it was tuned.

Im running an evo3 with no fuel mods right now. Just use the stock actuator to control the boost its around 10psi. I woulnt go over 12psi with that turbo unless you buy a logger and see if your knocking. If you buy a logger you may beable to get a little more out of your stock fuel system.

Good call.

Just keep it on the actuator settings. You injectors are smaller then the manual 1G's, 390cc, so they will get maxed out quicker than the 450's. If you have a logger use that for sure. run low boost and check for knock. If you are not getting any then leave it as is until you get the rets of your mods. If you are getting knock you make have to go back to the turbo and or get 450's and use those, but it might run a bit off.

How does the 13g compare to the 14b?

The 13g is a tdo4 turbo and is very small.
The 14b is a tdo5 turbo and works much better.
