Okay, I've searched up first, and I'd like someone to help me out, tell me if what I found was true or not. My brother has a turbo civic, running a Mitsu 14B turbo set up right now. His turbo finally went and he's looking around for another, and told me he could find a 13G easier then the 14B, but the 13G is from an automatic. Anyways, from what I found searching, to swap the 14B out for a 13G, he'll need oil lines/coolant lines, and maybe even a different turbo manifold? I think this is all he'd need? Other than that it's direct in/out? Can anyone correct me and help him out? Thanks! :thumb:

I know the lines are different. but he probally made custom lines anyway.
Manifold should just bolt up. unless there is clearence issues on the civic.

So possibly needing new lines and that's it? He told me he was finding more 13G's with less mileage, so I guess he might go for one of those.

Honda kids already have a bad name, haha, but I honestly did search and check to see what I could find, thanks for the links. I believe the 16G will be a direct in/out, which I mentioned to him, but he mentioned things like spool times, and I told him they probably wouldn't be too different.

Hell, I have a couple spare 14bs on the shelf from DSMers upgrading to 16G/E316G/20Gs. Grabbed them for a song on the off chance my 16G blows, so I'll have something to run on until I can get it fixed.
Still have as of yet to see a 13g, ever. Maybe your brother thought he could get one cheaper than a 14b? The 13g apparently flows like crap.. low spool, but it peters out fast. The 16G (especially the E3-16G) doesn't affect spool times much, but can go to a good 6.5k or all the way to 7 on a 2L engine without outflowing its efficiency map. Sounds like your brother might be helping the bad Honda name along a little more.

The car's got a homemade turbo kit, running mitsu set up, using the 14B. It was nice when it ran full potential, spooled fast and pulled strong, it's a light car. Anyways, I'm here trying to get some helpful info, don't care about the Honda tag.

Maybe it was he could find them cheaper, but I do believe he said he found more of them also.

I say tell him to get a 16g. I have a buddy that was running a small 16g on his single cam honda and it spooled up quite quick. It would probably be more cost effective to get a new 16g now thats going to last for a long time than hoping you get 13g or a 14b that is still in good enough condition to last a while.

If you are going to the trouble to redo the lines just go find a 14b or get a 16g for a little more money. I mean you are getting a larger turbo for fair ammount of price.

The lines might be different but the manifold should be the same.
