12" spal fan brackets for 2g

When I mounted both my fans I bout the top kit, I didn't use the straps but it came with the nuts/bolts, so that was the easiest route. I just fabed up my own brackets. You could bend the straps the kit comes with, but it looks cleaner to do your own (so that brackets aren't full of holes)

As a side not, which fan are you replacing? If its the main fan (pass side) I'd recommend Spals 13" HP model. Its flows 1710 cfm, while the medium profile 12" is only 1230 cfm. I run the 13" HP on pass side & 12" medium profile on the drivers side. They fit & flow great!

I replaced my dual flex-a-lite with (2) 12" HP fans from SPAL. I'm also using the brackets and straps. I am very glad I purchased those because it made the install very simple and very clean looking. All I had to do was mount the fan with the brackets and figure out how much to cut off the strap. I used a grinding wheel to smooth out the end that was cut. I've had this set-up for about 6-8 months and have had not an issue with the fans or brackets.

Thanks guys. I'll probably go with the straps and brackets kit. This is for the driver's side. I don't know if I need a high performance one or not. I don't race, I just saw the temperture gauge go up to about 7/8 of the way to red on a hot day and thought replacing this missing fan might help. I'm in the process of getting my a/c to work again also.

Well if your temp gauge went up that high I would definitely be concerned. Have you checked to make sure your coolant is full? You still have ac with a fmic? I would get the highest flowing fan you can get and then see what happens. I only know of a few people that run a fmic with ac still. If you still have this problem and wish to retain the ac, I would look into a better radiator.

I also recommend the straps. I'm running two 13" SPAL 17XX cfm fans. Before you install, take some vacuum line and cut it into 8 2" strips. On each of these strips cut down the length of the tubing. You can press this onto the fan shroud and it will keep the vibrations from marring up your radiator. ;)
