I'm looking to get a SPAL slimline fan (2 inches deep) for my 1g talon. Does anyone have experience with the single (large) fan and if you think it works well? All comments welcome. Is the fan on the left the one I want? (single)

I'm running a single 13" high performance spal.

It flows like crazy.
I actually went through three different 12" fans, only to buy the spal and wonder why the hell I wasted my money on the others.
When it starts up, you can tell from inside the car.

Remember this:
there's a difference between their slim fans and their high performance series--big difference.
Go spal, go high performance, and never have to buy again.

I believe it's a 13 inch fan and flows 920cfm. Is this the one I'm going to want with my stock radiator?

One spal 12" fan was not enough for my car with my FMIC. WHen it got really hot outside and I was idleing or stuck in traffic my temps would rise and not come down until moving again. I had to put another one on. With two of them both wired to the regular one (not A/C) so they run together when the computer tells them to come on works well. I also added a switch onto mine grounding Pin 23 I believe to turn them on when I want.

ive got 1 12" autozone cheap slim-line fan for 50$. Even on the hottest days in the summer, i dont see my temp gauge climb. My core has pretty large row spacing tho, so i get plenty of air to the radiator.

I read the threads regarding slim lines when I got my fmic, and I know a lot of people like anconover, who bought cheap slim lines with no problems.
But I wasn't one of them.
I went through 12" permacool, zirgo and one from Checkers.
The car wouldn't overheat, but it would take forever for the temps to come down once the fan kicked on.

When I got the 13" high performance, I hooked it up to the battery to test it, holding it between my arms, and when that sucker kicked on, it flew right out my arms.

I believe the spal slim lines are generic, flowing like the others.
But if you look at the cfm for the high performance, there's a big difference.

I'm just trying to save you money down the line, to avoid what I did.
You may be one of the lucky ones who can run a regular fan. But the high performance series isn't much more.
and you won't be dissatisfied.
