So, I finally went to the track for the first time since 2006. First time launching the car since 2006.

Mods are: 98 Tsi Awd, stock 6 bolt, link v2, SCM5031E, tial 38, 255hp, 660's, afpr, fmic, m300

I got 3 passes.

Bogged the first one and ran 13.1@110.

Upped the 2 step from 4750 to 5500 and spun through 1st on the second pass and it wouldn't go in 2nd gear at 7500. Cruised to a 14.0@109 on that one.

Third pass, I decided to just pulse the throttle at 5k rather than sit on the stutter box. Got a 2.0 60 foot (how embarrassing) and went 12.6@112.

Overall, i'm happy as this was on 93 octane, 22 psi, stock cams, old 16g tune untouched and lots of tools and junk in the trunk.

Here's the log, please give me some tips. GM3BAR and PLXWB are logged.

I did notice that the hp and torque curves are really weird...can anyone shed some light on that?

Next time, more boost and cams.

Thanks guys!

Why are your coolant temps only in the 160-170s? Just curious. You're timing is at 19* and 11:1 a/f ratio which is good for pump. You're not getting any knock.

Temps are cool because we sat in the lanes forever waiting for cleanup and the car was almost completely cooled off.

In addition, i have a 160 degree thermostat in the car.

And lastly, cooler temps usually means less likely to knock as pointed out above.

I believe the tune is pretty good but i'm sure it can always be improved. I will also need some bigger injectors soon.

Your airflow is being over estimated as seen by the 3bar vs. boostest. Since you have no knock I would turn up the boost some more. Also I would hold the 2-3 and 3-4 shift until 7k.

I have also noticed the boostest being off and i need to do a boost leak test although the car does not show any signs of leaks. I believe the fp 4 inch intake may have something to do with it but who knows.

Im running a stock mas so i try not to touch the airflow sliders but i just might have to do it if there aren't any boost leaks and the airflow is still off.

Im shifting where i feel like the power drops off specially since I am on stock cams. Next time, i will try to run it out to 7k and see if it makes a difference.

Thanks man!

Considering the boost levels being run and the lack of cams, looks pretty decent. I honestly don't think you need to worry about your injectors yet. I run 660cc injectors myself and based on what I've experienced they are good up to about 460 h.p. or so. I know your wideband contradicts what I'm about to say, but I believe your car is running rich. Timing looks good though.

You're right about the AFR, I tend to play it safe but I do have the tming pretty jacked.

I will turn the boost back up to 24 where it was last week with the colder temps and then start leaning it out. Might go to 25 but that may be pushing it on 93.

Here's my 2 cents:

+30 h.p. in trimming the fuel back
+8-10 h.p. per psi of boost increase
+10-15 h.p. in adding another 2-3* ignition timing
+25 h.p. in aftermarket cams
+20 h.p. with an EVOIII intake manifold or +40 h.p. with a SMIM
+20 h.p. with FP's race exhaust manifold or tubular header

I'd expect tuned out for that turbo to be around 480 h.p. at least.
I could be wrong but everything I've listed I personally run when I'm on
racing gas and the combination makes some big power on my setup.

still with a 2.0 60ft thats is a good time with that boost and stock cams along with an old tune. get that 60 ft down with more boost and cams this car will easily pull some 11.8's and faster i think on pump gas.

also how do u like that 50trim scm5031? i have the e316g and was considering going that route with the bb50 trim.

pboglio, the first 4 will be done very soon, the last two, later down the road as i need to freshen up my transmission, it's very whiney. I expected the boost to be at 24 psi once the sun went down like last week but it wasn't as cold.

kevbojunior, that's the plan.

The 50 trim is so far proving to be very fun. I already had an agp rs49t which is also a 50 trim but went back to a 16g when i had to make some $ for a new motor. Hks 272s also went in that.

But anyways, i traded my 16g for this 50 trim setup with a friend 2 weeks ago and the car is definitely quick for the amount of mods. The turbo spools very nice and pulls hard at 24 psi on a nice cold night. 4th gear easily takes you to 120 if you don't look down :)

IIRC I went 112mph on a 50 trim and stock cams/IM back in the day, I think it was with 20psi.

Addition of Cams and SMIM netted me 11.8 at 121 on 24psi, on 650's BTW.

You need to calibrate your mas better. You are showing 27.2lbs/min on the boostEst and only running 22 max. Your airflow is inflated by 20% so now that makes more sense that you ran 112mph in the quarter. Your airflow is in the ball park of 30-33lbs/min.

After you calibrate the mas zero everything out and start over. Here is a good link just in case you don't know how to calibrate the mas. 1992 Talon Tsi AWD Project

SB7775, I believe it is a boost leak. I actually drove the car to work today and I am going to do a boost leak test at my buddy's house after work. Once that is taken care of, if the airflow is still off, I will mess with the airflow sliders.

BTW, it's 27 psi for boostest, not lbs/min but i'm sure you just made a mistake.

I will post with results of the BLT.

Sure will, Need to relog the car with mafraw logged and then i can make some adjustments. I will have time to do it this weekend.
