1.8t vs 4g63

I couldn't find any info online about this so I don't think it's really common knowledge, apparently the 1.8t shares more with the 4g63 than just its grenade style tensioner (<-- double meaning there, why you think both heads are off!)

Showed my VW friend this. He immediately said he recognized that headgasket. He said it looks just like the one on his 1.8 8v Gti.

Looks like some Audi's may share the same headgasket too.

Funny, I had a little fun with my friend in his Jetta 1.8t tonight on the highway.

This is very interesting, I really like the 1.8T. I think I just found out why, it's a Mitsubishi motor in disguise! I've worked on them a lot and really come to appreciate them. If I went and bought a car today, it would probably be something with a 1.8t in it.

sorry but nether of those head gaskets were for a 4g63...

also vw and audi are like sister companies, they use alot of the same parts, some parts have both emblems cast on to them

OP, WTF are you smoking??? I would trust my good ol 4g63t anyday over a VW or Audi 1.8t. And yea, never has a dsm head or internals ever been used in a German pos... (no offense if anyone actually likes VW or Audi)
