Hopefully someone can help me out with this. I have been told that some inexpensive mods i can do to improve performance.

1st- I have been told that I can swap my 1.8 cam shaft out with a 2.0 and that the 2.0 is lighter there fore would be less wieght and would turn quicker increasing performance slightly.

2nd- Next was that I could take injectors out of a 2.0 and put in my 1.8 and that the 2.0 injectors have I higher flow rate then the 1.8 injectors.

Also I was wondering if anyone can tell me about the Cyclone 12valve head?

Last could someone direct me to a web sight that sells performance parts for the 1.8 such as headers, distributor, cams, throttle body. Things like that.

Any info one the about would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

hey another vegas dsm guy! awesome!

ok 1st: 4g63 cams will not swap into a 4g37, they are not setup to accomodate both intake and exhaust in a single cam. possibly might be able to get a one off or a regrind from crower cams. ( my buddy did this with his 03 accent)

2nd: honestly there is no need to install larger injectors if your not moving more air through the system, all it will do is make you run richer, kill your fuel economy (bad thing with the gas prices out here) and possibly pose driveability issues.

never heard of a 1.8 cyclone intake, maybe some else can chime in here???

as far as performance parts for the 1.8 4g37 there isnt a huge aftermarket for them, you might try nopionline.com back when I had my old laser 1.8ltr I picked up a set of headers from them for about 150ish. they may have other parts as well. also check out our vendor section here they might be able to help you out a bit as far as parts go. the stock ignition should be plenty for anything you throw at it with the 4g37, providing it is good condition. as far as the throttle body goes you could alway port that out with a dremel or a grinder and port match it to the intake manifold. but over all your best tool is going to be searching the forums here. hope this helps ya out a bit.
