1.8 to 2.0 swap

i accidently ordered a 2.0 4g63 engine offline when i had a 1.8 4g67 for my 93 eclipse gs... is there anything as far as the accessory mounts or anything that will be different when i go to swap the motors tomorrow? any advice would be appreciated!!!!!

As for your actual question, there are a number of different things that you're need. A list of some of the things is:
ECU
Wire harness
Motor Mounts
Transmission
Transmission accessories(clutch, cables, etc)

Just to name a few. This is not a drop-in affair. I'd highly suggest returning the 4g63 and getting a 4g37 or be prepared for a complete engine swap and a lot more money to be spent.

Hey i did this swap about 10 years ago, do it it's alot more motor your doing a swap anyway. but yes you do need every thing but it's all cheap junkyard stuff. some will say trans wont work. but it will. you just need the flywheel and clutch for the 4g63 I just bought a parts car for 150.00 and went from auto to 5 speed while I was in there.Have fun it's worth it.

wow. Butterfinger, I was unaware the trans would match up. Just for future reference, do you need a 1.8 or 2.0 starter? I figure a 2.0 since you said to use the 2.0 flywheel and clutch, but its still the 1.8 trans. Good information to know. Looks like maybe the girlfriends car might have a 2.0 in it soon enough...

ok... that's a relief ### i bought the motor from canada and i was scared that i might have to ship it back there. so i'm on a military base in bum#### north carolina and there really aren't that many 1gs up here. i'm pretty much limited to buying things off line. i'm really new to the whole fixn the car thing but i have one of my sgts helping me. do you mind butterfinger if i pm when i have questions?

As far as the starter call autozone and check part number's it may be the same the guy I just got my 2g from just put a 2.0 trans on his 1.8 and he did not say he had to. by chance are you in jacksonville im in wilmington and know a place about an hour away you can get everthing for 40.00 The ecu I can't see and don't know for shure if I could tell or not But I do know I have a few of them out at my dad's and may be able to help you out if he hasn't chucked them. and yes pm when ever.

actually yes... i'm at the air station.. so if you could tell me where a good cheap parts place is around here i would be very thankful.
