I'm in the process of installing a downpipe and catback exhaust system but I ran into a problem. It looks like theres an o2 sensor Just after the downpipe ends and the exhaust system begins. My wrench stripped the damn 22mm bolt so I cant remove it from the steel pipe. Is this 02 sensor really needed? Should I just cut the wire? what will happen if i do?

You will throw a rear o2 C.E.L. Your options are trying harder to get the sensor out, or cut the wires and hard wire in a new o2 sensor.

He is going to throw a cell regardless as the O2 sensor is at the end of the downpipe and not after the cat. Unless he is an O2 simulator that will make the ECU read the cat is working correctly.

Personally, I would try harder and get it out. If you ever have to remove it, its going to be stuck there. Its better to remove it now while the down pipe is out. Also, if you have dsmlink/ecm link, you can shut that code off. That sensor is only there to tell the ECU if the cat is working correctly. It does nothing else and doesnt effect anything else to do with your car.

Since he is installing a cat-back exhaust he is probably implying that the o2 is after the cat. It's most likely a stock exhaust system.

Just chop it off and get a new one. Probably wouldn't hurt to replace it anyways, and since I'm assuming your old one is stuck in the stock exhaust...not a problem at all. Just cut the harness and replace it with a new one when you get your new exhaust all in.

When attempting to get a stuck rear o2 sensor out of my buddy's 2G, we ended up cutting the wires off the old sensor right at the sensor itself, then using a deep-well socket and a breaker bar. It still wouldn't budge until I heated the piss out of the base of the sensor, and jacked (with a standard car jack) the breaker bar upward toward the floor boards. Once it "popped" for the first time, it came right out.
