0-60 420a times

Hey Folks, over the past week or so i've been practicing launching my car. I have a 95 GS/ stock as hell except for the intake. I've found launching from around 3500 and riding for a bit gives me a good take off. I can get it to get just those little chirps when the tires are on the edge of giving but really don't spin at all Well.. anyways onto the point. The 95 n/a is only registered to do the 0-60 in 9 seconds. At first thats exactly what i was getting ( by the way I'm timing this with my Cd player, start a song, wait, launch on 10 seconds,, take final time-10 )After a bit of practicing my launches and w/ a good shift to second i got my time into the 8s. I was pretty syched over that. Today with my friend in the car i got an 8 second solid 0-60. That one kind of suprised me. I didn't think I'd be able to drop a whole second off the suposed 0-60. So does this sound possible or am i just being a jacka$$ and miscalculated somthing? And If anybody knows what that would approx translate into a 60' time? I don't have a track nearby so cd player timeing is what i got to work w/ . But i just thought that this was kind of interesting and wanted to hear some other peoples thoughts on it

Atleast buy a $3.00 stopwatch. But as far as dropping a second off of the factory times by driving, I dont see it, sorry.

It is possible to run better times than the MFR Estimates, not full seconds but tenths. I ran 15.4s in a car that was only supposed to pull 15.6-15.7.

I didnt say you could not improve some, you were still in the sme range I said As far as dropping a second...I dont see it.

yeah, i kinda figured that was b/s, i must've been paying more attention to the revs than the time i launched. Like i said i only did it once and didn't practice any more after that, so i just wanted some opinions on the matter.

If you really want a good idea of how well your driving skills are improving either hit the track or get a GTech Pro. A friend of mine had one of the Gtechs and it was within 3 tenths everytime we ran it compared the the track times. Also at the track the 60' times are not how quickly you hit 60 mph, it represents how fast you reached the 60 foot mark.

Yeah man,, I've been thinking about getting a little gadget like that! It would be a pretty cool thing to have i think. I haven't gotten around to it yet though. I don't feel the need spend my cash on what i consider an "extra" when i've got a stock n/a. There are plenty of other go fast goodies I'd like before that. But when i do get somthing like that I was looking at the one from Apexi the other day, from what I've read that thing can do everything and looks sexified too. And yes i realize the 60' time is ft not mph. I just was wondering what an 8.8-9 sec 0-60 would translate out to in a 60'. At the track they measure 60' and not 60mph so i just kinda wanted to see where my launches stacked up to others on the site. Thanks for the input
