the shop rebuilding my 4G63 is boring it 0.010 over, is this kosher? why do most people go 0.020 over?

It all depends on the wear of the bores, if .010 cleans it up, no need to go to .020, but if .010 doesnt clean it up move onto .020, .030 etc.
