Hey guys, I've been troubleshooting a slight wandering steering wheel (under spirited acceleration and braking) and front inner tire wear. Although everything seems good when I check it, I cannot shake the feeling that the replacement arms i have may have some issues. What are the best companies to use for stock replacement control arms? Rock Auto has Mevotech supreme, Beck/Arnley, Suspensia, and Delphi (I'm staying away from the cheap options-you get what you pay for). Are there any other companies (like Rare Parts, listed in Advance and Autozone) that I should look into?

I tried a Mevotech control arm and the bushing were different dimensions. My poly bushings wouldn't fit. I ended up getting a Dorman and it was identical to the original in every way.

But if you're getting some steering wander I would suspect the bushings or the ball joints before the the arm itself. Do you have stock bushings or poly? Have you checked for play or looseness in the ball joints? One of those seems far more likely than the arm flexing or something.

I believe that the bushings or ball joints on the compression or lateral arms may have some sort of issue. But since the ball joints aren't separately replaceable, I'm looking to simply replace the complete arms. I just need to make sure I get ones of good quality.

I think Delphi makes a good control arm as far as standard replacement. When i was looking for reviews of the options Rockauto provided most for Mevotech Supreme or Moog were pretty negative, even my mechanic recommended shying away from those, i opted for Delphi and from his words they were great quality replacement. I do intend to get the same brand ones to replace the other control arms i have. I believe the particular part number for the control arms i got from Delphi were TC5358 and TC2505.
