I have a turbo 420A Eclipse with a freshly rebuilt motor (under 150 miles). After doing a couple light pulls, I started noticing a knocking/rattling noise that originally only happened under throttle, but has gradually gotten worse and started occurring at idle after driving. If I let the engine cool down, the noise goes away at idle, but I can still hear it slightly when applying throttle. The noise seems to come from the bellhousing area and does not change when pressing the clutch. I originally pulled the motor because it was making this same noise and now its making the noise again even after the rebuild. Before putting the motor back in I used blue Loctite and torqued down the bolts. I’m trying to determine whether this could be a cracked flexplate/flywheel, rod knock, or something else.
