A little update on the car it wouldn't start and I had the fuel pump wired straight to 12v. It still wouldn't start and when it was running it had a nasty lope to it. I had a spare ecu lying around, popped it in and it started. Wired everything back to stock since previous owner wired it to its own relay and what not. It all turned into an absolute mess. I told myself I wouldn't dig in like my other 2, but I couldn't help myself. I'm going to be ripping out the "custom" sunroof next, and relocating the battery from front fender to the trunk. I have alot of rust to fix too so that's in the books.

I yanked the carpet out and I have yet another rotten floor to fix.

It's been a while but I'm finally working on the eclipses again. My life decided to take a little detour there for a few months but I'm back. I had no choice but to cut a deal with my brother with my 95 gsx. Anyways I've been putting all my time and effort into the 95 rs. It's pretty much gutted and I've decided to work my way from the back to the front instead of the other way around. I usually just jump around anyways, but as you can see there's been some rust repair attempt by previous owner that ill be fixing. There's some real nice rust in the rear that I'll be focusing on too. I'd like to try and have this car wrapped up by spring. I originally was going to keep it how it was but I'm way to ocd to leave it. The engine bay had mostly everything replaced from my last 420a build. There was to much wrong to leave it how it was including the oil drain that was the same size as the feed, along with the oil pan banged up and jb welded. Anyways I'm hoping to have many more updates on this car. Here's a bunch of pictures as it currently sits.

I cracked into some rust last night. I'll be making everything from scratch so I left some of the skeleton there to mock up to. It already had a repair done once before.

Swiss cheese... You can see why I prefer southern cars. I bought a Subaru from Colorado once and the damn control arms were ROTTEN. My 2g was originally a Georgia car and doesn't have a spec of rust. I was even able to unbolt the exhaust hardware at 20 years old.

I will say for a northern car with 240k miles I'm extremely impressed there's not more rust. It seems I find all the cheap good deals here in the rust belt. I've decided to embrace body work at this point since the cars always need rust repair. I'm ocd about it so it has to be pretty well perfect. Thanks for following there's going to be many more updates on this car.

Thank you very much. I appreciate it a ton. I've slowly been working my way back into it.

So I was able to get some welding done and start shaping the rear a little. I've got quite a ways to go but its starting to get there. I know alot of it doesn't have to be perfect but I might as well get it close while I'm this far. The other side isn't this bad so it should go alot faster, I hope.

I had a chance to do some more work today. I was able to start welding in the main course and it's been a real chore. The front of the panel is easy because I can tack it as I curve it down, but the back side has a much sharper curve to it and it's free wheeling so ill have to figure out how I'm going to overcome that. Anyways that will be a challenge for a different day. I'm just happy to be this far along.

I started getting the rear rockers formed and adjusted. I'll still need to roll the back of the rocker which shouldn't be to bad. I'm hoping to be completely done with it tomorrow. I just haven't had much time maybe a half hour to an hour to work on it some nights. I just dont want to burn myself out to bad.

Well I got it as close to factory as I could. I'm no body guy but I'm pretty happy with it. I may have to shape it a hair more. I just keep measuring the passenger side to get it as close as I can. It's going to have side skirts on anyways so I'm not to concerned about it, I just can't stand rust or bondo.

I'm not a huge fan of using bondo but I can't make it perfect without. I'll be wrapping up the paint work this weekend. I test fitted the sideskirts and they fit very well.

I'm pretty much done except for the bondo that keeps growing from me sanding. This whole quarter panel is bondo which is driving me nuts. I have to get it as smooth as I can before I slap some paint on. I feel like I should keep sanding upwards to see how bad it all really is. I got a picture from the previous owner on the damage and how bad it really was.

Hey now when I get in the zone I just can't stop. Thank you though I'll try to keep things a little tidier on the other side. I might as well been working outside in the sandbox.

I broke down and finally bought a set of rims for the eclipse. Out of the 10 plus eclipses I had in the past I was never able to buy rims for them so I'm pretty excited.

I was able to do a little painting this weekend it's not great but it'll do for now. The bottom is going to be black so i left that for now. I'm ready to start putting the interior back in and do some engine mods. The warm weather is just about here.

I finally had a chance to stick alot of new parts in this thing. First thing being ditching those autolite spark plugs, It's getting really close!! The thing that really surprises me is there has been zero leaks under the car sitting all winter.

My summer ran pretty short with this guy. My luck ran out unfortunately, this was 110 percent on me I'm going to tear into it tonight and see what went wrong.

If any of you 420a guys can give me some insight as to why the sprocket was rubbing against the oil pump I'm all ears. I don't understand what stops the sprocket from bottoming out? I'm guessing that's what shredded the belt since it already had nicks in it. I did get ahold of the previous owner since he's a buddy of mine and he said the belt was maybe 5 years old with a thousand miles on it at the most. I'm just confused.

I'd check the crankshaft end play. While crankwalk is uncommon with 420A, it's quite possible given your scenario. Another option is separation of the crankshaft damper.
