I wouldn't do it for $10k here in Illinois. $3-4k max in pieces. If it runs and drives without major issues maybe $7500-9k realistically. But if it makes sense to you and you can justify that price, do it. As long as all the documents on the car...

I pitched this thread in the trash but wanted all to know, that on a search and a hunch, I went out and bought a whole new set of exhaust valves, to make sure everything matched and when they came in, they did. They appear to be BC3101 Exhaust...

In the US, yes, that would be a lot for even for a nice running DSM. In your neck of the woods, maybe not. If you did all the work yourself you're probably still a few grand away from a running car. What would it fetch if it was running?

Agreed.Planning to build some ducting during the off season this year. Gonna be a tight fit, but I think it’ll help a lot.

I would seal the inlet to the fmic in the bumper cover to disallow air from going around the sides. And then seal between the fmic and the radiator to ensure the air doesn’t escape between those two. Ducting plays a big part of the cooling process.

I found mine on ebay. It has some issues with the spark plug cover bolt threads, which I don't use, so I negotiated a better price. Stripped it with used brake fluid ($free) and then some rattle can etching primer and engine paint.

My gas gauge doesn't work and I found this side(driver's side) unplugged and when I plugged it in it rose to 3/4 and stayed there. Would this fix this issue ? Thanks in advance

one seems to cater to those who wish to rebuild their own with the kits , the other is a constant presence in this community with back to back records of service in rebuilds, knowledge, articles and resources.

It still makes me sad to see how car knowledge is mostly shared through FB groups that suck. They're filled with 10x the egos, bad info that's barely moderated and a complete lack of good write ups like back in the day (At least for the Audi 4.0T...
