im looking into getting the ZEX wet kit from all the reading i have read while on this site. only thing i got a question about it the kit stops spraying nitrous when you let off of the throttle between shifting. now i have a 97 GS-T auto. i dont let go of the throttle untill im done, will this be bad for my engine???

The ZEX kit I had was equipped with the NMU (nitrous managment unit). When fuel pressure or nitrous pressure dropped too low it would stop spraying. I had a manual transmission so I can't attest for how it would perform with an automatic. I'm sure as long as the car shifted and you didn't bounce around the rev limit that you'd be fine. I'd recommned searching or trying to contact other automatic owners who are spraying. Goodluck!

I have no idea about using nitrous on a Auto but I have installed the zex wet kit into a si civic, and it works very nicely. The install was very straight forward and I would recommend the zex kit any day. Sorry I couldnt be of better help.

You can get this...

Traction Control Window Switch

Increase your engine safety and hook-up all that extra nitrous power for maximum acceleration!

The new ZEX™ Traction Control Window Switch lets you easily select the rpm range that your nitrous system activates in; both upper and lower rpm limits. This ability to set the rpm "window" is critical to engine safety because engaging nitrous below 2500 rpm can cause detonation and engine damage. In addition, hitting your engine's rev limiter with the nitrous engaged can lead to dangerous intake system backfires. The Traction Control Window Switch also lets you select what gear the nitrous starts to spray in. This is a huge benefit when racing on street tires or any application where traction is limited.

The ZEX™ Traction Control Window Switch is a completely programmable and fully electronic switch that is adjustable up to 20,000 rpm, making it perfect for any application, including high-revving motorcycle engines. Programming is simple, using just two buttons and the unit's display screen. No rpm "chips" to lose or knobs to accidentally bump, the Traction Control Window Switch saves all of it's programming internally and is fully compatible with any manufacturer's nitrous system on the market today.

You will be fine, I have an AUTO GS turbo'd with the ZEX wet kit. I have had the Nitrous on this car since I bought it in 1999. It has 121,000 miles on it and the tranny and engine are fine...ALL Stock still. Well I changed my driver side CV joint but thats it. The Nitrous is great off the line :D especially when you got the AUTO. But Like Dgajre777 said Don't use the Nitrous Below 2000 - 2500 rpm. And watch the tire spinning...auto's don't like that :nono:

hey jeff are u using that traction control thing their talking about??

NOPE...my tranny is all stock.... and I don't use any Traction control.
I don't think you really need anything like that, because you're AUTO you will Never hit the rev limiter unless you're in neutral haha. Just don't ever juice it up under 2000-2500.
I spray the Nitrous right through gear shifts and everything!

The ZEX kit runs off of the TPS sensor. You program the NMU (nitrous management unit) to turn on at WOT. I do not know how auto transmissions work but the kit worked fine on my automatic civic a few year back.

very nice. i keep hearing that Zex is the way to go, even more under stock stuff

I used the Zex wet kit on my Stealth, which was an auto, with no problems. You just don't want the nitrous to spray at too low of an RPM, because the cylinder pressure will be too high. If you are hard into the throttle this won't be an issue. That is why it activates only at WOT. Just make sure you don't bounce it off of the rev limiter, or use it in neutral (why you would anyway, I don't know), BECAUSE THIS WILL BE BAD. Hope this helps. :talon:

ya thats bad haha. i gotta fix one problem with my car first then gonna look into getting it
