I have got a 98 eclipse here and my aftermarket oil pressure gauge is registering 0 at warm idle. I read it is supposed to be 11.4psi at idle. Oil pressure is good at cruising and higher rpms, but at idle it is a big fat zero.

Any input is appreciated!

Sounds like the pressure is reading below what the gauge is able to accurately log. If you really had zero oil pressure at idle the engine would be blown by now.

Try changing to an oil like 15W40 and see how it effects the idle pressure.

Ive got a glowshit elec oil press. gauge. Same issue. I dont trust elec gauges especially cheap ones. If it were true, my engine would be toast by now. I think you should hook up a mechanical gauge, even if temporarily, let it warm up fully and then check it. Bethca it isnt 0.
Is this a new build? What oil are you running? Those are both important too. If its a new build i would be worried. Run 15/40 in it too, no 10 30, its too thin.

I kind of figured that the pressure was too low for the gauge. Its also a prosport gauge with their cruddy sender. I may try another sender to see if it is any different. I also read the dummy light comes on at 7psi so I knew there was no way it was actually zero. I am currently running 10w30 because I have been getting Shell Full Synthetic for $2.50 quart. I did try some 15w40 one time and it was a bit higher than zero on the gauge but not much. It's not a new build, she has 85k on her.

I guessed that the engine would be toast if it indeed was zero at idle all the time. That's why I never really worried that much about it. I always just figured the gauge would not read that low or something.
