Nice that looks good!

Heres some 304 stainless 308 rod on 65 amps diversion 180 with gas lens 3/32 ceriated tungsten. It has some under cut in some spots but otherwise i dont think too bad. I'm using a small filler wire also. This is schedule 40 pipe bends. 1.5ID hopefully if all fits this will turn into a manifold.

I want to build a manifold but no car to do it to. Need to keep the daily a daily. :(

I tried welding for the first time today using shield metal arc with 7018 and 6010, needless to say, don't have any decent picks to post at this time. ROFL Maybe in a few weeks i'll post results of what you are talking about.:thumb:

Position (ie overhead) stick welds. Some are 7018 weaves and some are stringers.

^looks promising. Where are you getting the bends, collector, flange from? And what's your total investment?
Would love to see how you weld the runners up to the collector on such a tight fit. That has always amazed me how people get into such tight spaces and can even see and still not block the sensors on the helmet.

I'm thinking about buying an stm collector, if i dont use a pre made collector I'll use a vibrant t3 flange and a magnus or extreme psi head flange. I currently dont have any tools to notch the pipes for a collector. I went to a stainless store and picked up 20 90* bends, 20 45* bends, and 2 feet of 304 pipe for $275. I wont be using any where near all of them for one manifold.

Did you use any straight sections? The 45 I think are $5 each from ace stainless

I was looking at a similar thread on honda forums also haha i dont have anything to cut with, however the college
Might allow me to use their ban saw. I desided to change design to a ram horn cause it just seems easier. What do you think? The two middle ports will be 45* off the head flange woth a straight piece linking to the two front runners. Havent cut any of the straight pieces yet.

Anoter question. Is there a simpler way to mock these pieces together other than tape? Something at a hardware store to allow joint movement incase i decide on a different angle?

Here is mine taped up.

Took these pix at the performance shop i bought the flanges from. This manifold is for a honda. But mine of course is for a dsm.
I'm starting to wonder if sch40 is waaayyy too thick. Not sure how I'm going to get them to port match the flange. Ideas on that too? Everyone else seems to use sch10 which i found out AFTER i purchased the stainless.

Not sure how or why that pic duplicated at the bottom. Damn you tappatalk!

That is going to make a heavy ass manifold.

Yeah thats what I'm thinkin... I plan to reinforce it though :( maybe I'll go back and try for sch10. Since ive marked on the 15 pieces i mocked with I'll put together the shape with sch40 as practice and use sch10 with the t3 flange ad head flange that i need to order. Good thing is this monster won't break though!
