Alright first let me say the only reason im not changing my own timing belt is cause ive never really worked on a car before ive re-built the trubo on mine thats all ive done. (i plan on getting a nt 2.0 dsm to change the belt and get to know the car before i do it to my own).
Alright im going to bring my car to pina motorsports They said everything timing, bse, waterpump all that stuff will run me about 1300 MAX (he said thats most likley 200 over price of what it will be)

So what do you think?

OMG. The prices might be fine according to the book job codes, but you could build a built bottom end for that $ yourself.

IMO, take your time, learn how to do it your self and save about $1,000. I guess that depends on if its your DD and if you have the time to do it yourself. Being meticulous and patient goes a long way. Working on a car is about 80% common sense, and 20% skill.

thats alot for about 1hours worth of work and ~400 dollars worth of parts

Wow!! I think thats way over the top for a price.... Like my1g said take your time and try it yourself. Get a manual and save yourself about a grand. I've done my timingbelt a few times and its worth learning how to do it yourself.

If you have a good shop that will do it at a decent price sure take it to a shop but honestly you should just do it yourself. The BSE and timing belt were about the first thing I did to my eclipse when i bought it and everything went fine. I removed both shafts and rotated the bearings it took me 3 days alone but i broke one of the bearings and had to wait a day for a new one. You'll curse and bleed and be dirty but you'll know its done right and you'll learn something.

Onlything i dont know how to do on the guide for timing belt it says put 24in lbs on it with beam type torque wrench and it has like a scale on it. i dont got one of them, seems stupid to ask but could i use a torque wench?

You don't need that tool or the in/lb torque wrench.

If you follow the vfaq and the grenade pin slides out of the tensioner arm easily after 6 engine revolutions and the 15 min wait time and the rod sticks out .15-.18" then it will be fine. I have done it many times this way without the tools. I did make the long bolt from a spare battery hold down bolt like in the vfaq.
