hey guys

just curious today i noticed my car was running slightly odd, i took the plugs out and they were pure yellow it seemed


can any one give me some input on how or why my car would be doing this?

Insulator Glazing

Glazing appears as a yellowish, varnish-like color. This condition indicates that spark plug temperatures have risen suddenly during a hard, fast acceleration period. As a result, normal combustion deposits do not have an opportunity to "fluff-off" as they normally do. Instead, they melt to form a conductive coating and misfire will occur.

Were you recently beating on it and now it's running funny?
 
yea the other nite i gave it a 3 gear full 18 psi run and it started acting funny

i am running bpr7's in there so i dunno wats goin on, so basically saying it's leaning out a bit that the combustion temps rise
 
Put in a fresh set of 6's, gapped properly (.028")

You have a logger I hope? Are you getting knock?

What are your AFC settings? Stock turbo right? Your intake setup and porting is probably allowing your airflow to be on the highside. More fuel would be good.
 
yea i have a logger and its getting like maybe at most on the high side like 5 or 6 counts of knock

but i'll add some fuel for shits and giggles and throw some 6's in there and check if that works better

This is true, you could go with either, I would just suggest sticking with 6's unless something calls for you to change heat ranges. The glazing the OP got wasn't going to be stopped by any plug most likely.

18 psi or more constitutes running the 7's. General rule of thumb is to swith to 7's when you run 18+psi regardless of which turbo you run. I suggest 7's gapped at .028" and using a different brand of fuel or a higher octane rating if you arent running premium already.
