Alright so last night i went to an abandoned road to see how fast i could take my stock GS-T. I took it up to about 105 and then i used the brakes to slow down while the car was still in gear. i slowed down to about 60 and put the car in neutral. then i press on the clutch shift the car back in gear and the clutch pedal sticks to the fllor OMG . so now im likw WTF happened. i pull over and try depressing the clutch and it won't work. so with my foot i lift it and it comes all the way up and stays there.

so now i drive off and everything seems normal. i stop somewhere so i turned of the car. then im driving home and i depress the clutch so in can shift and it sticks to the floor again. i pull over and i try to lift it by hand and it comes all the way up again but as soon as i press on it a little it just drops to the floor. i have no idea what the hell happened. i was with 2 of my friends so we walked home to my house( we were only about 10 minutes away). i went back with my dads truck and pulled it back to my house. so now my cars sitting in front of my house broken. can somebody please tell me what happened to my clutch and how to fix it?

Have you checked the clutch resevior fluid? If not that may be your problem :thumb:

If the resevior is completely empty so that air got down in the hosing then try this http://www.motorvate.ca/mvp.php/803, if it was just very low then try filling it up to the top and if it still seems spongy after that or doesnt feel right then do the process in the above link. Good Luck :thumb:

does it matter what kind of brake fluid i use? i don't know what kind is in there.

Im right in the middle of putting my motor in at the shop i work at (literally, im dirtying the keyboard right now as I type this with my black hands)

Put brake fluid (dot 3 or 4 whatever) in the clutch resovior.

Have a buddy pump the pedal a few times 5-6 and you will notice it start to take fluid.

Get under the car and look at the clutch slave, it's bolted right to the trans. It has a bleed screw just like your brakes do. Put a rubber line on it to a catch basin of whatever type so you can bleed it just like brakes.

Have your buddy pump the pedal then hold it down. You open the bleed screw and let the air out and tighten it right back up. Just open, close. Then tell him to pump again 5-6 times. You open and let the air out then close. Just keep doing this until fluid comes out.

Every 5-6 times get out and re-fill the resivoir with more fluid, DONT LET IT RUN DOWN or you will get air again.

You yell pump, he pumps then holds and yells hold. You open then close again and yell pump. He pumps 5-6 times then yells hold and you open and close again and yell pump. Just make sure he is holding the pedal down while you open and close, do not let it up or it will pull air though the bleed screw.

Hope that helps BIATCH!!!

As long as you dont mix mineral and synthetic it's all good, but any DOT 3, 4, or even 5 will work for you. :thumb:

i got som Coastal Super Heavy Duty brake fluid DOT 3. wil this be good enough. it seems kind of watery i thought it was supposed to be more thick

when i press on the clutch just a little bitn it drops straight down so i can't just "pump" it

i dont think its the slave cylinder. theres a hard line thats connected to the slave sylinder that runs up then comes down and is connected to something else i dont know what its called but the part has some of the brake fluid on it. i touched when i first found the slave cylinder and it dripped a little bit.

Ok on your slave the rod will be connecting to your clutch fork. Take that boot off. If you can move the fork alot/ it falls out your fubared like me. ROFL Same thing happened last week. I replaced 3 slave cylidner and went through 96 ounces of fluid before I relized that the fork was broken. Waste of money, Also if you feel fluid on the line make sure everything is decently tight and there are not any holes. Check your master cylinder as well, you may be leaking from there.

The big round thing up farther is the clutch accumulator cylinder. You can replace it with a braided line and that will eliminate the part that is leaking. If you see fluid there then your not going to be able to bleed it properly till it's sealed up.

Just use any of DSMTUNERS vendors and buy a braided clutch line. Then re-do the steps I gave you.

ok i took the boot off the clutch fork and tried to move it and it didn't move. at least i know ts not my clutch fork.

this is the cylinder i was talking about. it is leaking near the top and it has gotten oil all over it. the oil has dripped on to the tranny too. the hard line on top is the line i was talking about that is connected to the slave cylinder. . and i cant just pump the pedal since theres no pressure at all. will replacing it with a braided clutch line give it some pressure or will i have to move the clutch pedal manually? i got some pics but they're too large and i don't know how to make them smaller

here are the pics

ima replace the resevoir with a ss braided clutch line and replace the slave cylinder too. replacing only the slave cylinder wont affect the mast cylinder will it?

Oh for cryin' out loud, replace the bleed screw with a speedbleeder of the same size :D
Seriously great advice Jim, but I personally got tired of making my dad come outside to help me bleed this or that hydraulic system last summer so I went and replaced all the bleed screws with speedbleeders. Autozone carries these for one. :thumb:

i think you're doing alot of unecessary work. I just recently bled my clutch line. For the first little bit, the pedal would drop to the floor like you are describing. So I had my bro in law grab it with his hand, and lift it, then push it down with his hand. After about 5 times of bleeding it that way, it gained pressure again. Your prob may not be the same as mine, but hey it's worth a try.

i finally got the parts i ordered

ok so i took off the slave cylinder and the accumulater cylinder and i tried to disconnect the old clutch line but the nut wouldn't come off  . i didn't have any WD-40 so i put a little bit of brake fluid on it to see if it would loosen up but nothing happened. i took off the little clip too and that didn't help the hard line twisted a little bit. i cut the old line off so now its just a little pice of it on it. i tried to unscrew it from the other side but i couldn't get the wrench in. anybody have any advice?

liquid wrench.. then take a 12mm wrench. place it tightly on the bolt, hit it with a hammer and break it loose. Easiest from under the car to do with sockets. Over the car with wrench and hammer. that bolt shouldnt be to hard. I hope your talking about the clutch line bolt taht bolts to the tranny LOL.
