This is hearsay until proven otherwise. If I might give some advice, we were just discussing this in another thread but you’d be better to put the stock lifters back in. A slight tick when the engine is cold that does zero harm isn’t worth the oil the big hole lifters scavenge from the bottom end at high rpm. The Kiggly HLA regulator would help with that but many of us prefer the stock small hole lifters for this reason.

Not saying it’s going to kill an engine instantly, I’ve worked with plenty of these cars the last 17 years, plenty of them had “revised” lifters, none of them failed because of so. I’ve also heard that lifter tick CAN cause phantom knock, but in that time over all the dsm’s I’ve been around that’s never been the case. The point is long term, and especially long term in cars that see regular “spirited” driving and sustained high rpm wether it be at the drag strip every other weekend, autocrossed a few times a month, rally car, whatever the case may be. Yes for years the “revised” option has been the go to, but in recent years people like Kevin from Kiggly realized the downfalls too (hence why he came up with his HLA regulator), and in recent years there’s been plenty of findings why they haven’t been the best solution, hence why even a few of the “fast guys” are using nothing but the small hole 1g lifters. The link you posted shows the differences we are all aware of and all of the information there 11 years ago isn’t even correct. This is hearsay until proven otherwise.
There's nothing wrong with 3g lifters. I've been running 3g lifters and stock regulator for the better part of a decade with absolutely zero issues. Have you ever compared the two designs? I have. The feed hole on the side of a 3g is approx. the same size as the original 1g. It just has a much larger exit hole on top, which allows it to expel easier, not necessarily more volume.
Lifter tick can cause phantom knock. So I wouldn't say 1g lifters causes zero harm.
This thread has a nice picture comparing the two: https://www.dsmtuners.com/threads/whats-the-difference-between-1g-2g-3g-lifters.435508/
